Tuesday, July 1
The first DVD Tuesday of July brings a mixed bag of selections, led by Vantage Point, a topsy-turvy political thriller starring Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox and William Hurt. Also debuting are the family comedy Drillbit Taylor, starring Owen Wilson as a homeless man masquerading as a bodyguard for bullied teens; Meet the Browns, the latest offering from box office juggernaut Tyler Perry; and Kar Wai Wong's dreamy ensemble drama My Blueberry Nights, featuring Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz.
Our DVD pick for the week is City of Men, Brazillian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles' intense follow-up to 2002's critically-acclaimed City of God.

Horton Hears a Who continued its impressive run over the weekend, taking the top spot at the box office for the second week in a row with a $25 million tally. Tyler Perry's romantic comedy Meet the Browns led all newcomers, earning $20 million in just over 2000 theaters and easily beating third place finisher Shutter. The Japanese horror import earned a paltry $10.7 million despite the presence of box office dynamo Joshua Jackson. The Judd Apatow-produced comedy teen Drillbit Taylor landed in the fourth spot with a disappointing $10.2 million take. Rounding out the top five was the caveman adventure 10,000 B.C., which earned $8.7 million in its third week in release.
