The folks at Warner Bros. are running a pretty clever buzz campaign for The Dark Knight. Though the Batman Begins sequel only recently began shooting, tantalizing bits and pieces from the film are already beginning to surface.
The latest to emerge is a long-awaited image of Heath Ledger as The Joker, which can be seen at ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com. (Wait a few seconds for the Joker pic to appear. - editor's note: the image has now been taken down, but if you highlight the text you'll now find a special treat as well as a hidden message to decode) It's by far the most grotesque version of the character we've seen yet, and probably a bit more accurate representation of the effects of bathing in a vat of acid.
The pic, first revealed on batman-on-film.com, is part of Warner Bros.'s ongoing guerrilla marketing campaign (or is it viral marketing? I always get my pseudo-intellectual corporate terms confused.) to promote The Dark Knight.
Can't wait to see what they'll do to Harvey Dent, also a sufferer of acid-face syndrome (apparently a common affliction in the comic book universe).
