• Dailies Goes to New York!

  

  New York week finishes off today with a special Dailies Weekend Show featuring the hosts in a tour of the cities five boroughs culminating in one of the Big Apple's most picturesque landmarks, Grand Central Station.

  Jill also takes Sex and the City fans on a bus tour of the show's locations and previews this summer's highly anticipated Sex and the City movie.

• Why today is a holiday

  Filming on Sex & the City: The Movie officially starts today! We are so excited, we could pee.

  Says New Line: "Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon are reprising their roles from the original HBO series.

  The show’s longtime executive producer, Michael Patrick King, is set to write and direct.

  Additionally, Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis will return as the women’s love interests. Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) has also joined the cast of the film and will play Carrie Bradshaw’s assistant, a new character to be introduced in the film."

• Movie newz: Hudson & Cheadle

  Don Cheadle, who may be best known for his dramatic turns in movies such as Reign Over Me, Talk to Me, and Hotel Rwanda has signed on to join Emma Roberts in the family movie, Hotel for Dogs. Perhaps Hotel for Dogs wil be a message movie after all. Or perhaps Cheadle just needs to be in something light for a change.

  Also,Sex and The City: The Movie has a new character in the form of Jennifer Hudson. The Oscar-winning Effie will play Carrie Bradshaw's assistant. Say, we're writers living in a big city. We could use an assistant. Maybe she wants to work for us instead?

• Movie newz: Dancing with Shiva, Powder Blue, Awaken the Dragon, and Mr. Big is back!

  The news just keeps getting better for Sex and the City fans.

  According to Variety, Chris Noth, aka Mr. Big, has indeed signed on to reprise his role for the Sex and the City movie!! Given, it's hard to imagine they would have moved forward with the project without him, but still, it sure is nice to have it confirmed.

  As we reported last month, Anne Hathaway has signed onto Jonathan Demme's ensemble piece, Dancing With Shiva. Today's Variety says the actress will be joining Bill Irwin (Lady in the Water, The Laramie Project), Anna Deavere Smith (The West Wing, Rent) and Debra Winger (Terms of Endearment, Forget Paris) in the comedy, which was written by Jenny Lumet. Filming begins next month in Connecticut.

  Three more have signed on for the Timothy Linh Bui Christmas indie, Powder Blue, says The Hollywood Reporter. Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing, Ghost), Kris Kristofferson (Blade, The Wendell Baker Story), and Eddie Redmayne (The Good Shepherd) have joined the cast. Swayze will play a sleazy strip club owner, Redmayne will play a mortician who falls in love with a stripper who works there (Jessica Biel), and Kristofferson will play a corporate crime organization head. Could be quite interesting...

  And finally, Warner Independent has plans to do a noir-style remake of the 1973 Bruce Lee martial arts classic, Enter the Dragon. According to Variety, the remake, which will be called Awaken the Dragon, will be written by producer Kurt Sutter (The Shield). Sutter will also be making his feature directing debut on the project.

• We called it

  As we reported months ago, it looks like THE SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE IS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN!!

  According to Variety.com, New Line and HBO are partnering to finally bring Sex and the City to movie theaters. All four leading ladies (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon - for those of you living under rocks) are on board.

  Integral S&TC series writer and producer Michael Patrick King will write and direct. It's like music to my ears.

  Talk of a S&TC movie has circulated since the beloved series ended in 2004, but negotiations have previously failed because Cattrall was unable to reach a satisfactory deal (wanted script control and a salary on par with SJP's).

  Whether or not other series regulars, such as Christopher Noth (Mr. Big), will also reprise their roles is yet to be determined. Rest assured that we will keep you posted.

• Into every life a little Sex must fall

  Is it possible? Can it be?

  Gossip blogger extraodinare Perez Hilton is reporting that the beloved HBO series Sex and the City is finally going to make it to the silver screen.

  There was much buzz over the notion of a Sex and the City movie when the show ended in 2004, but possibly thanks to a much-speculated-upon rift between Kim Cattrall and other cast members, nothing ever came to fruition.

  Can those differences have been worked out? Perez usually has reliable dish, so let's hope he's right this time.

  And now if you'll excuse me, I must go home and get my dog, Mr. Big, ready for the premiere.
