For those who missed the critically lambasted Roland Emmerich caveman flick 10,000 B.C., it is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. The other big release of the day is the family-friendly Spiderwick Chronicles, also available on DVD and Blu-ray. Hitting disc today as well are the the gritty crime tale In Bruges; Charlie Bartlett (starring the future Kyle Reese and Chekov Anton Yelchin); animated indie darling Persepolis; and Ryan Reynolds' rom-com Definitely, Maybe -- the latter two of which impressed our own Heather Huntington in her reviews.
Our DVD pick of the week is Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten, Julien Temple's excellent doc exploring the legacy of The Clash's legendary frontman. Check out our full Joe Strummer review.

Jumper shrugged off a slew of negative reviews to claim first place at the box office. Hayden Christensen's return to sci-fi grossed $27.2 million, well ahead of second place finisher Step Up 2 the Streets' $19.6 million tally. Close behind was tween adventure fantasy The Spiderwick Chronicles at $19.2 million, followed by the McConaughey/Hudson rom-com Fool's Gold. Rounding out the top five was Definitely, Maybe.

The weekend begins a day early at the Cineplex, with four new flicks offering something for everybody: There's Jumper for the fanboys, The Spiderwick Chronicles for the tweens, Step Up 2 the Streets for the "urban" aficionados and the rom-com Definitely, Maybe for the ladies.
A rundown of our reviews of this weekend's new releases:
The Spiderwick Chronicles
"Covers all its narrative bases and packs enough thrills into its 97 minutes to qualify as decent family entertainment." [Full The Spiderwick Chronicles Review]
Jumper
"Star Hayden Christensen is unable to lend any real depth to his stubbornly bland -- and bewilderingly selfish -- character." [Full Jumper Review]
Step Up 2 the Streets
"What it lacks in polish (on-the-nose dialogue, choppy pacing, vague character motivations) it more than makes up for in energy and spirit." [Full Step Up 2 the Streets Review]
Definitely, Maybe
"Though this is a mainstream romantic comedy, the writing isn’t completely dumbed down—a refreshing change from the norm." [Full Definitely, Maybe Review]

The boys are madly blackberrying from their posts at the Paramount Panel at Comic-Con. Here's the latest:
They're catching footage from Hot Rod, Stardust, Beowulf, and Cloverfield, as well as panels of Andy Samberg and his comedy team, Stardust writers Neil Gaiman and Jane Goldman, and Roger Avary.
Not to mention a cool Sweeney Todd poster was just revealed.
At the The Spiderwick Chronicles panel, the writers say they want to do for fairies and goblins what Jurassic Park did for dinosaurs. They're showing the process of taking the goblin animation from book to screen, as well as some great goblin test footage.
Jon Favreau just made a surprise appearance! Iron Man is done shooting and he is showing some footage of it to the audience. The adjectives the boys are using to describe it may not be suitable for ReelzChannel readers. Let's just say they like it.
And rumors that Steven Spielberg is about to show have reached a fever pitch.
Make sure to check back later for more pictures and their full recap of today's events!
