In Inkheart, the movie adaptation of the first book in Cornelia Funke's Inkworld trilogy, a daughter discovers that her bookbinder father has the ability to bring book characters to life simply by reading aloud their stories. But the act is not without consequences, as both quickly discover.
Recently, we talked to Brendan Fraser and Eliza Hope Bennett about playing the father and daughter at the story's core. You could say Fraser was well suited to play his Inkheart character, Mortimer "Mo" Folchart -- author Cornelia Funke says he inspired the character in her novel.
We also interviewed Paul Bettany, who plays a fire-eating juggler and the villain's henchman. The Inkheart role was a lighter turn for Bettany, who said he wanted "to make a movie, finally, that my children can see."

Inkheart actor Brendan Fraser revealed to a roundtable of reporters that he does a gag bit in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra -- reuniting with his Mummy director Stephen Sommers.
But Fraser was quick to dispel earlier rumors about being resident Marine Gung Ho.
Let me get something straight. I'm not Gung Ho. I don't know what you've read, but that is not the name of my character. If you look him up, with all due respect, he looks like a refugee from the Village People, and, no, I did not attire myself as such. I will tell you that they gave me a really cool motorcycle to ride. It's a sight gag. I show up, and you're supposed to go, 'Hey!'
When an intrepid reporter asked whether that meant he would be playing one of the villainous mercenaries called Dreadnoks, Fraser immediately clammed up, "I'm not talking about that."
