Hollywood is mining the depths of the Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, Less Than Zero) archive, and making The Informers, an ensemble drama based on his short stories set in 1983 LA. Billy Bob Thornton, Kim Basinger, Ashley Olsen, Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and Lou Taylor Pucci (Thumbsucker) will all be contributing their talent.
Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Shallow Grave) will be taking his place behind the camera once again with Slumdog Millionaire, a story about an illiterate Mumbai street kid who wins the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty) wrote the script, which is based on a true story.
And James Belushi will be taking his first turn as a feature director with The Catch, in which he'll also star as a 42-year-old who goes back to college and joins the football team as a tight end. The script, which was based on the life of Marty Reichman, was written by real-life-football-story-go-to-screenwriter David Murray (Lombardi).
