On hand at Santa Monica's Casa Del Mar on Saturday to help promote Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show, in which he enjoys a brief cameo alongside his Swingers buddy, Iron Man director Jon Favreau talked briefly about his eagerly anticipated comic book flick.
Having recently locked picture, Favreau is now ensconced in the editing room, racing to have the CGI-heavy flick ready in time for its May 2nd release date. So far, he likes what he sees:
"The stuff between Robert (Downey Jr.) and Gwyneth (Paltrow) and Jeff Bridges is really great," he raved. "There was so much freedom in storytelling, because they always knew that it was going to be about Iron Man and the flying and I never got pressure on the scenes. And so I had a tremendous amount of freedom to tell a story in a tone that I'm very comfortable with. So in a way, it was really the most creative freedom I can remember having on anything. And it works."
