Hot on the heels of the sequel Step Up 2 the Streets, Disney has quickly announced a third entry for the dance flick trilogy.
So what makes this one different from the first two? 3-D baby! That's right, all those crazy dance moves and sweaty toned bodies will be popping right out of the screen so you can dance along with them. The tentative title is
Step Up 3-D and
Streets director
John Chu is in talks to direct. More to come!

Jumper shrugged off a slew of negative reviews to claim first place at the box office. Hayden Christensen's return to sci-fi grossed $27.2 million, well ahead of second place finisher Step Up 2 the Streets' $19.6 million tally. Close behind was tween adventure fantasy The Spiderwick Chronicles at $19.2 million, followed by the McConaughey/Hudson rom-com Fool's Gold. Rounding out the top five was Definitely, Maybe.

The weekend begins a day early at the Cineplex, with four new flicks offering something for everybody: There's Jumper for the fanboys, The Spiderwick Chronicles for the tweens, Step Up 2 the Streets for the "urban" aficionados and the rom-com Definitely, Maybe for the ladies.
A rundown of our reviews of this weekend's new releases:
The Spiderwick Chronicles
"Covers all its narrative bases and packs enough thrills into its 97 minutes to qualify as decent family entertainment." [Full The Spiderwick Chronicles Review]
Jumper
"Star Hayden Christensen is unable to lend any real depth to his stubbornly bland -- and bewilderingly selfish -- character." [Full Jumper Review]
Step Up 2 the Streets
"What it lacks in polish (on-the-nose dialogue, choppy pacing, vague character motivations) it more than makes up for in energy and spirit." [Full Step Up 2 the Streets Review]
Definitely, Maybe
"Though this is a mainstream romantic comedy, the writing isn’t completely dumbed down—a refreshing change from the norm." [Full Definitely, Maybe Review]
Also opening: George Romero's Diary of the Dead, The Year My Parents Went on Vacation
