Yes, the holiday we all love to hate is nearly upon us, and what better way to celebrate it than with an ode to that cinematic sub-genre everyone loves to hate: the chick flick. It's easy to hate the so-called chick flick, especially if you wasted your hard earned cash and two plus hours on He's Just Not That Into You last weekend, or have ever found yourself on a transatlantic flight with nothing more than Made of Honor playing on a small screen to entertain you. But it doesn't have to be that way.
As with any type of movie, the chick flick can be done right, just as the Oscar grubbing prestige pics can be done wrong (see: Revolution Road). So, as our Valentine's gift to you, we offer you this collection of 10 Chick Flicks That Don't Totally Suck. Many don't suck even a little.

You've got to give it to Jennifer Aniston. Having been left for the beautiful Earth Mother goddess and her flock of babies, a weaker actress might have rethought the direction of her career. She might have eschewed starring in petsploitation films (Marley and Me) or He's Just Not That Into You. And a weaker woman definitely would have avoided signing onto a movie where she gets impregnated by a turkey baster, while Brangelina trots the twins 'round the world. But, God bless her, not Jen. Girlfriend is like, "Screw it."
Aniston has signed on to star opposite Jason Bateman in The Baster, a fertility comedy from the dudes who brought you Blades of Glory. Aniston plays a neurotic woman who wants to have a baby via artificial insemination. Bateman plays her best friend who secretly replaces her donor's semen with his own.
We can't wait for the press tour on this one. We can already imagine the mag covers, the awkward moments talking turkey basters with Letterman, the tabloids seizing on a fresh opportunity to dredge up the Jen vs. Angie stories yet again. Oh the movie magic!

Based on the self-help book that blossomed out of a Sex and the City episode, He's Just Not That Into You has been adapted for the screen and features a massive ensemble cast of stars and starlets, including Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Ginnifer Goodwin, Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper, Justin Long, and Kevin Connolly. Drew Barrymore does double duty, starring and producing for her Flower Films banner.

The iconic popularity of those incessant "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" television ads have been part blessing, part curse for actor Justin Long. While they have certainly offered an entirely new level of exposure, they've also tended to overshadow Long's scene-stealing work in movies like Live Free or Die Hard and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. You also have to wonder how many times he gets approached by Mac nerds asking him to explain what the heck that spinning color wheel means?
Long's latest role in He's Just Not That Into You may well be the most demanding part of his career. Instead of playing the comic relief, his character Alex is pretty far removed from the roles of Long's past.
We sat down for an exclusive interview with Justin Long at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles to discuss his transition from jokester to romantic leading man.

It's been nearly six years since the last Charlie's Angels flick, Full Throttle. Does that mean it's time for another? According to the franchise co-star and co-producer Drew Barrymore, yes! Promoting for her 2009 Oscar hopeful He's Just Not Into You, Barrymore said, "I'm so into it -- 'Charlie's Angels III!'"
Her Flower Films producing partner Nancy Juvonen says, "It's percolating up...It's rising to the surface." Given that the careers of other angels Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu haven't exactly been kicking ass, we're guessing the chances of seeing a third Charlie's Angels are pretty good. People are already talking about the introduction of a fourth angel and who might possibly play the role. Perez Hilton votes for Megan Fox. Hot, sure, but what about a more surprising casting choice? Rumor Willis, anyone?

Fans of Scarlett Johansson can win the chance to meet the buxom actress, and it's all in the name of charity.
Johansson, who is an Oxfam Ambassador, is auctioning off two tickets to the New York premiere of her upcoming movie, He's Just Not That Into You, this July to benefit the charity. The winner will also get a meet and greet with Johansson, and be escorted to the premiere via chauffeured car after being dolled up at the Prive Salon.
100% of the proceeds from the auction will go to Oxfam America.

Movie fans should plan on seeing a lot of Scarlett Johansson in the months to come. Not only is the buxom beauty starring in The Nanny Diaries, which opens next week, but she's lined up three more projects to film over the next year, says The Hollywood Reporter.
She is yet another in the line of stars to sign on for a part in Ken Kwapis's He's Just Not That Into You, which seems to be becoming a bigger deal by the day. Just yesterday, the news was that Jennifer Aniston would be joining the cast, which already includes Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Connelly, amongst others. In it, Johansson will play a singer/pilates instructor who has an affair with a married man.
She has also signed on for Frank Miller's adaptation of the noir comic strip Will Eisner's The Spirit. Johansson will star opposite Gabriel Macht (Because I Said So, The Good Shepherd) as Silk N. Floss, a smart sexy secretary who backs up baddie, The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson).
To complete the hat trick, Johansson will also be starring in Mary Queen of Scots, a biopic centering around the Scottish monarch's romance with the Earl of Bothwell and rivalry with her half-brother James. The indie costume drama will be directed by John Curran (The Painted Veil).
In other news, Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, In America), Dakota Fanning (Charlotte's Web, War of the 
Worlds), Chris Evans (The Nanny Diaries, Fantastic Four), and Camilla Belle (The Ballad of Jack and Rose) will be toplining Push, a new thriller that starts shooting next month in China.
Push will follow the story of a group of clairvoyant American ex-pats hiding out from the U.S. government in Hong Kong, says Variety. It will be directed by Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin).

Jennifer Aniston is about to be the next cast member to join in Ken Kwapis's (License to Wed, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) adaptation of He's Just Not That Into You. The former Friends star is in negotiations to play a woman in a long-term relationship with a marriage-phobic boyfriend, says The Hollywood Reporter. Filming is scheduled to start next month in LA.
Jeremy Piven (Entourage, Smokin' Aces) let slip to MTV on the Common music video shoot that he is about to star in a comedy called Don Ready. He wouldn't reveal anymore details other than that it is being produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay--which are obviously pretty juicy details.
And finally, former Nicholl fellowship winner James Mottern will make his feature directing debut with his script Trucker, about a female truck driver who has to start to take care of her estranged 11-year-old son after his father is hospitalized. The indie drama will star Michelle Monaghan (North Country, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Nathan Fillion (Waitress, Firefly), Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality, Traffic), Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy, Big Daddy), and Jimmy Bennett (Evan Almighty, Poseidon), says Variety.
