Journey to the Center of the Earth, Brendan Fraser's adaptation of the classic story from Jules Verne, leads this week's crop of new DVD releases. Also debuting on DVD: the toy-inspired Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, starring Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin as a Depression-era investigative journalist; and Tinker Bell, Disney's straight-to-video tale of the Peter Pan fairy's adventures, featuring the voices of Raven-Symone, America Ferrera, and Lucy Liu.

Dark Knight is all the rave these days but movie fans still have to wait another nine days for that one. In the meantime, this week Hellboy II (check out Brent Simon's Hellboy II review); the Eddie Murphy vehicle Meet Dave and the family-friendly Journey to the Center of the Earth (showing in 3-D in some locations) hit screens.

Brendan Fraser is back in family-friendly form with a remake of a Jules Verne adventure story, Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D , about a science professor and his nephew who discover a cave in Iceland with access to, well, the center of the earth.
