In Miss Conception, Heather Graham (Boogie Nights, Gray Matters) stars as Georgina Salt, a London thirtysomething woman who wants more than anything to have a baby -- and suddenly discovers she has only one egg left to
do it with. With her boyfriend away in Ireland shacking up with his gorgeous American production assistant, Georgina races against the clock to find a worthy candidate to bed during her ovulation window.
There are lots of odd things about Miss Conception, starting with the fact that Americans Heather Graham and Mia Kirshner (The L Word, The Black Dahlia) lead up the cast, playing Brits in a British movie. Weirder, though, might be that they both do a surprisingly convincing job of it (kudos to their accent coach). Mostly, though, it's a pretty innocuous and bland bit of fluff, although some will undoubtedly be annoyed that it furthers the myth that all women in their 30s have insane baby-fever. Mostly, though, Miss Conception is pretty harmless and periodically funny, but probably not worth a trip to the theater.
