Anything that can get my 12 yr old daughter to read ...is great with me! I am so happy to see a young person read these large novels that I think there may be hope for the xbox generation yet.

You bring up a good point. It is nice to see the youth of America reading. At the same time I must agree with FoxArchipelago. Kids are reading because of these books, do we really need to turn these into movies so soon? Hopefully the film can inspire people to go back and read the books. Then it will be worth it.

Really? Seriously? Twilight isn't even out yet and there is already talk of a sequel? I may be pleasantly surprised by this movie, but in the end it seems like Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse are just trying to rehash something that has already been over done (The Lost Boys, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel). In the end, they may be alright books (I'm not personally a fan), but does every popular children's/teen book need to be made into a motion picture? Oh well, we will see how this compares with Harry Potter in the end.

Twilight Sequel in the Works?

The movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling tweener vampire novel, Twilight, hasn't even hit theaters yet and rumors of a franchise have started.

According to ShockTilYouDrop.com, Summit Entertainment is gearing up to bring Twilight's sequel, New Moon, to the big screen for release in 2009.

While the actual fate of a New Moon movie is surely just speculation at this point, the considerable and active fanbase for the Twilight series will surely make the sequel (and onwards) a reality.

Next Showing: Twilight comes to theaters this Christmas.
