Tobey Maguire, best known as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, will closet the red and blue tights for a while to take on the role of Jack Greenberg in the real life story of the landmark 1954 Brown V. Board of Education case.
Variety reports that
Gary Ross will direct. Ross previously worked with Maguire on
Pleasantville and
Seabiscuit.
The film is based on Greenberg's memoirs "Crusaders in the Courts" and will be titled
The Crusaders.
