Jesse Eisenberg Goes from Adventureland to Zombieland

Jesse EisenbergJesse Eisenberg's last movie, Adventureland, saw him romancing Twilight's Kristen Stewart. Hopefully, Stewart's stories of the undead prepared Eisenberg for his next project, Zombieland. The comedy finds Eisenberg teaming up with Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone (Superbad and the upcoming Sucker Punch), and Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine) on a cross-country trip of survival in a world overrun with zombies.

Let's just hope Eisenberg is able to leave the world of the undead, unlike Harrelson who mistook a paparazzi photographer for a zombie at La Guardia airport. America's answer to Shaun of the Dead is directed by newcomer Ruben Fleischer, producer of MTV's Fantasy Factory. Horror comedies are often difficult to pull off, but Zombieland has a secret weapon: a cameo featuring Bill Murray as a zombie.

The trailer for Zombieland is set to premiere before the Jack Black comedy Year One, which won't open until June 19. So, until then, check out these first-look photos of the movie.

    Ryan Reynolds Discusses Adventureland

Adventureland, the upcoming dram-edy from writer/director Greg Mottola (Superbad), opens this Friday and the stars are out promoting the film in force. In this set of interview clips from Attack of the Show! on G4, Ryan Reynolds and Jesse Eisenberg talk about the “deeply personal” experience of making the film.

    Reynolds:

"You really do see the ugliest side of America when you're, you know, working in theme parks."

The story revolves around a college graduate’s summer job as a “carny” and aims for subtler humor and more nuanced performances than Superbad, for which Mottola is most famous.

    Jesse Eisenberg:

"I genuinely think that it's, like, as authentic as a coming-of-age movie can be. It's autobiographical, so already it kind of starts from a place that's very sincere and real."

Adventureland also stars Kristen Stewart (Twilight), Bill Hader (Tropic Thunder) and Kristen Wiig. (Semi-Pro)

Ryan Reynolds Is an RPattz Fan

Ryan ReynoldsRobert Pattinson has another fan to add to the hordes of screaming girls he can't help but find himself surrounded by, and this one comes in the form of Blade: Trinity and Smokin' Aces star Ryan Reynolds.

Speaking to MTV, Reynolds said of Pattinson, "Oh my God,are you kidding me? Robert Pattinson in a word: dreamy."

Reynolds also talked about his role in upcoming movie Adventureland, which stars Twilight's very own Kristen Stewart. Reynolds' character, Mike, is twice the age of Stewart's Em, yet still indulges in a romantic affair. He said of his eighteen-year-old co-star "She's an old, old soul. Sometimes I wonder if she's one of the Golden Girls with a great face lift.”

Well, we're glad KStew has at least one fan besides Nikki Reed and boyfriend Michael Angarano. She doesn't seem to be getting much support from Twilighters, though maybe it'd help if she stopped referring to the fandom as "obsessive" and "retarded."

    Adventures at Sundance

Adventureland One of the movies attracting the most attention at Sundance this past weekend was Adventureland, which premiered to a packed house. Directed by Greg Mottola (Superbad), the movie stars SNL actors Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, Jesse Eisenberg (Squid and the Whale), and Kristen Stewart (Twilight).

Adventureland tells the story of fresh-out-of-college James Brennan, who's headed for Europe then to Columbia grad school, where he'll live with his wealthy best friend. At James' graduation dinner, he goes over his financial checklist with his mother and father -- only to learn that his dad has recently been demoted, meaning no check for James. To raise the money for grad school, he takes a summer job at amusement park, where his adventures include nearly being stabbed by a crazed dad seeking a stuffed panda.

Mottola said Adventureland was loosely based on his life growing up in Long Island and a summer job working in an amusement park. He also revealed that Kristen Stewart's character Em is a "composite of a few ex-girlfriends."

What's Next For Twilight's Kristen Stewart?

Kristen StewartFans won't have to wait until Twilight sequel New Moon debuts to see Kristen Stewart on the big screen. Up next for the young star is Adventureland, a romantic comedy set in an amusement park in the 1980s, from writer/director Greg Mottola (Superbad). The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg as a college student who takes a job at Adventureland and falls for fellow co-worker Stewart. Sounds like a perfect match, considering Stewart seems to fall for men with dark secrets and Eisenberg certainly has one.

Adventureland opens March 27, 2009 and co-stars Ryan Reynolds, Bill Hader, and highly active scene-stealer Kristen Wiig.
