It's confirmed. Director Walt Becker's Old Dogs, starring John Travolta and Robin Williams, is as bad as it looks from the trailer. (And that's really bad.)
"...stupefying dimwitted."
— Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"Wild Hogs, Old Dogs — what's next, Bumps on Logs? Truly, I would rather watch John Travolta and Robin Williams sitting on a tree trunk, doing nothing, than endure their best efforts to energize this ol' hound."
— Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune
"Old Dogs does to the screen what old dogs do to the carpet. It's unfortunate that only the latter can be taken out and shot."
— Kyle Smith, New York Post
"So wretched that it should be unceremoniously put down, Old Dogs is a series of sub-sitcom sequences designed to destroy any affection once felt for John Travolta and Robin Williams."
— Nick Schager, Slant Magazine
"Six-year-old boys may laugh at the bowwow of a comedy Old Dogs. But then, 6-year-old boys laugh at the word poop — and the word poop plays a big steaming part in this stinky endeavor."
— Lisa Schwarzbaum, Entertainment Weekly

Well, at least it will keep him away from the movies for a few. Once-funny man Robin Williams has announced that he'll be gracing the Great White Way with his no-longer-funny presence. He'll be bringing his one-man show "Weapons of Self-Destruction" to Broadway from April 28 to May 3.
While Williams has been on a 80-city tour with the show, that, unfortunately, doesn't mean he doesn't have any movies coming out. He'll still be terrorizing the multiplex this year in Old Dogs and the Night at the Museum sequel. Oh well, at least there's no Patch Adams sequel in the works.

Hollywood seems to have canine-brain this week, and who can blame it?
Julia Roberts' niece, actress Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew, Aquamarine), will be starring in Hotel for Dogs, a live-action kids' flick about two teen orphans who hide stray dogs in an abandoned hotel. Jeff Lowell (John Tucker Must Die) adapted the script from the 1971 novel by Lois Duncan. It will be the feature directoral debut of Thor Freudenthal.
Bernie Mac (Transformers, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle) will be adding his comedic talents to Old Dogs, the John Travolta-Robin Williams comedy about two middle-aged men who find themselves in the charge of 7-year-old twins. Mac will play "Johnny Lunchbox," a puppeteer with Barney-like status among kids.

The John Travolta-Robin Williams comedy-in-production Old Dogs just got another boost--in the form of Seth Green.
Yes, it's true: Scott Evil himself will be playing a hungry executive with the global firm run by Williams' and Travolta's characters.
Readers will recall, of course, that Travolta recently cashed in at the box office with Wild Hogs. Oddly, not only does the new project rhyme with Wild Hogs, but it is being helmed by the same director (Walt Becker). This simply must have some hidden meaning.
