• Foxx and Butler to star in Darabont's Citizen

  Director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) has his cast for the upcoming thriller, Law Abiding Citizen.

  Jamie Foxx is set to play the titular "Citizen," a man who finds himself abandoned by a legal system that has offered a plea bargain to one of the murderer's of his wife and child. Foxx's character carries out a revenge plot line targeted at the killers and those who offered the plea bargain.

  Gerard Butler plays an asssistant D.A. at the center of the dejected citizen's vigilante plot.

• Sort-of-Famous Actor May Play Sort-of-Famous Superhero

  Ryan Gosling, who deserves to be a bigger deal in Hollywood than he is, may play the Green Lantern, who, according to our calculations, is the third most famous green superhero, behind the Hulk and the Green Hornet. (Correct us if we're wrong.) Playing a superhero may seem like a stretch for Gosling, who's kind of a poor man's Ed Norton (brainy, intense, kind of highfalutin'). But Norton played the Hulk. And apparently one version of the Green Lantern's comic book visage was based on the face of Paul Newman, and when we look at Gosling, we see a little bit of Newman too. Plus, what do you do after you play a guy who falls in love with a life-sized silicone love doll, as Gosling did in Lars and the Real Girl? Obviously, you don some lime-green Lycra muscle-tights and fight bad guys.

• New Twilight Trailer Debuts Today

  Don't be surprised if you experience a dramatic slowdown in your internet service at around 9pm Pacific tonight. That's when the latest trailer for Twilight, the big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's teen vampire romance novel, debuts in HD on MySpace. The last Twilight trailer has seen over 18 million views since its debut; who know what numbers the latest clip will rack up.

  Other ways to see the new Twilight trailer:

  On TV: There will be a sneak peak of the new trailer this evening on Entertainment Tonight; immediately afterward it will be viewable online via the Twilight widget, available at the film's official site. It will be there for about an hour before launching in HD on MySpace at 9pm PT.

  In theatres: This weekend it will unspool in front of selected new releases. It is also attached to sneak previews of Sex Drive playing nationwide this Saturday, October 11. Check out Sex Drive's official site to find out where it's playing in your area.

• The Excitement for Twilight Continues Building

• Ludlum Adaptation Attracts Top Talent

  The recent success of novelist Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne series on screen has prompted MGM to explore the author's back catalog. The studio is currently setting up Ludlum's 1983 novel The Matarese Circle and they've landed perennial box office power player Denzel Washington for the lead role.

  Today Variety reports that David Cronenberg, who has enjoyed a career renaissance with A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, is in talks to direct. 3:10 to Yuma scribes Michael Brandt and Derek Haas are adapting Ludlum's novel.

  Set at the height of the cold war, Washington will play an American spy who must team up with a Soviet spy to prevent a plot to destroy the world governments.

• Duo Breaks World Record for Movie-Watching

  A pair of movie fans spent 123 hours in Times Square this week watching 57 movies without a break, establishing a new world record for continuous movie-watching. • Russell Crowe Too Funny for Warner Bros.

  Improvising on the set of Body of Lies, Russell Crowe came up with a great line that didn't make it into the movie because Warner Bros. executives deemed it too tasteless. He explains all on Letterman. • Entourage Picked Up for Sixth Season

  Entourage, the HBO docutainment series that has taught us how little making movies has to do with the movie business, and why actors have so much time to devote to politics and social justice issues -- or in the case of Vince and the gang, videogames -- will continue its breezy plodding for at least one more season of botched meetings, broken promises, deal-blocking vendettas, and surprisingly smooth-flowing LA traffic. (The gang spends most of their working lives driving, and yet hardly ever gets ensnared in a major jam. One more benefit of having your own entourage: Car-pool lanes!) According to The Hollywood Reporter, Season Six will air in summer 2009. Our prediction for the (in)action that lays ahead? Vince is going to languidly fornicate with some supermodels, Eric's going to frown a lot, Turtle will wear some hats, Drama is going to experiment with Botox, and, in a psychotic fit of roid rage, Ari is going to slaughter an entire rival agency with a machine gun.
