  • Are Werewolves the New Vampires?

The Wolf ManAlthough vampires have been the creatures on everyone's lips lately due to the Twilight phenomenon, New York Magazine is taking stock of an overpowering wave of werewolves on Hollywood's horizon. The pack of cinematic lycanthropes will be led by the January 23 release of Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (check out the movie's new poster) to be followed on April 3 by the remake of the Wolf Man starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. And there are a litter of lower budget films and not yet finalized projects -- including a rumored werewolf project with Ridley Scott at the the helm --nipping at their heels. The clincher though for NYM, is the prominence of werewolves in the next two Twilight novels, which Summit Entertainment is making moves toward turning into movies as well, starting with New Moon.

  • It's Goth vs. Vamp When South Park Takes on Twilight

South Park TwilightIn a very timely take on the Twilight phenomenon, last night's episode of South Park has the town's school being overrun by a cult of teenage vampire wannabes. These children of the night take their style cues from the local Hot Topics and drink Clamato to seal their transformation. Then it's cult vs. cult, as goth kids attempt to banish the newcomers who, they complain, have "bogarted" their style. For them, the worst of it is that no one seems able to tell the two groups apart.

The full episode can be viewed at South Park Studios.

  • Tips for Getting Your Twilight Tickets

Traffic to Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com for advance tickets for the Twilight has been off the charts for several weeks. Many theaters are already sold out for tonight's midnight showing (it's a vampire movie, after all), and other showings are quickly doing so as well.

Here are a few tips to make sure you get a seat:

    1) Get the tickets in your hands as early as possible. Even if you order your tickets online, go to the theater as soon as possible to get the physical ticket in case there are any snafus.

    2) Consider a matinee. There are generally smaller crowds for these showings.

    3) Look for free promotions. You can't beat a free and guaranteed ticket! ReelzChannel is buying out a whole showing on Thursday night and other media companies are having Twilight movie ticket contests.

See you in line! And if you're a Twi-Hard, we'll see you in line many times.

See if Twilight tickets are available now.

  • Early Twilight Review!

TwilightOkay, we promised you the Twilight review at midnight tonight, but due to overwhelming demand, we've decided to roll it out a little early this morning.

Does Edward and Bella's on-screen romance live up to the words as written by Stephenie Meyer? Was Catherine Hardwicke able to faithfully translate the immersive world to screen with under a $40 million budget? All these questions and more are answered in ReelzChannel's Twilight review!
