Variety reports that Diane Lane will star in Secretariat, Disney's upcoming movie about the relationship between the Triple Crown-winning race horse and his owner, Penny Chenery.
Reportedly, it will focus on Chenery's life, from her humble beginnings in Virginia to her rise as the "first lady of racing." Randall Wallace -- who wrote Braveheart and is working on the upcoming adaptation of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged -- is directing from a script by Mike Rich (Finding Forrester, The Rookie).
The movie is scheduled for release sometime next year.
