  Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ellen Page and Thomas Haden Church are a bunch of smart people who make stupid decisions in Smart People, a dark comedy by director Noam Murro.

• Movie newz: Jennifer Aniston, James Cameron, and Sarah Jessica Parker

  Jennifer Aniston has signed to star in a new romantic comedy opposite one of our favorites, Steve Zahn (Reality Bites, Rescue Dawn).

  Management, written and directed by Stephen Belber (The Laramie Project), is about a traveling saleswoman (Aniston) who has a fling with a hotel manager (Zahn) who then decides to follow her around the country trying to win her love. Sounds like a pretty high-profile gig. We hope this means Zahn's star is rising!

  More news on James Cameron's long-awaited follow-up to Titanic. The live-action digital 3-D Avatar has added two new cast members: Michelle Rodriguez (Girlfight, Lost) and Stephen Lang (Gods and Generals, Niagara Niagara).

  Rodriguez will play an ex-Marine pilot and Lang a Marine colonel who must oversee the troops on planet Pandora.

  Finally, Sarah Jessica Parker has an indie flick coming out in advance of the Sex and the City movie we are all so eagerly anticipating. SJP stars as a dean at a New England college at the center of a racial hate crime investigation in Spinning Into Butter, adapted from Rebecca Gilman's play of the same name. It will premiere at next month's National Conference on Race, Reparation and Reconciliation in Atlanta.

• We called it

  As we reported months ago, it looks like THE SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE IS REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN!!

  According to Variety.com, New Line and HBO are partnering to finally bring Sex and the City to movie theaters. All four leading ladies (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon - for those of you living under rocks) are on board.

  Integral S&TC series writer and producer Michael Patrick King will write and direct. It's like music to my ears.

  Talk of a S&TC movie has circulated since the beloved series ended in 2004, but negotiations have previously failed because Cattrall was unable to reach a satisfactory deal (wanted script control and a salary on par with SJP's).

  Whether or not other series regulars, such as Christopher Noth (Mr. Big), will also reprise their roles is yet to be determined. Rest assured that we will keep you posted.

• Into every life a little Sex must fall

  Is it possible? Can it be?

  Gossip blogger extraodinare Perez Hilton is reporting that the beloved HBO series Sex and the City is finally going to make it to the silver screen.

  There was much buzz over the notion of a Sex and the City movie when the show ended in 2004, but possibly thanks to a much-speculated-upon rift between Kim Cattrall and other cast members, nothing ever came to fruition.

  Can those differences have been worked out? Perez usually has reliable dish, so let's hope he's right this time.

  And now if you'll excuse me, I must go home and get my dog, Mr. Big, ready for the premiere.
