MTV Movies is reporting that Max Headroom -- or, to be more precise, the guy who played Max Headroom -- has joined the cast of Zack Snyder's hotly anticipated comic book flick Watchmen. Turns out that Matt Frewer, the man who created the infamous '80s computer-animated icon, is quite the prolific character actor, with dozens of movie credits to his name. According to MTV, Frewer will be playing Moloch, a retired supervillain whose brutal murder helps form the core of Watchmen's mystery.
While it's a nice step for Frewer, he still has quite a long way to go to make up for creating what is by far the most irritating thing to come out of the '80s. Even Cindy Lauper, New Coke and the "Where's the beef?" grandma wanted Max Headroom dead.
