• Ich bin ein Speed Racer

  The Wachowski brothers have finally emerged from hiding for their first post-Matrix project, a live-action Speed Racer movie based on the popular animated series from the '60s. While the Berlin set of Speed Racer is more heavily guarded than Checkpoint Charlie, Warner Bros. recently held a press conference there to promote the film, which opens in theaters next May.

  Dailies' own Errol Barnett ventured to the former Cold War capitol, where Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox and others talked about adapting Speed Racer for the big screen. Check it out here.

• Charlie Salinger, Speed Demon

  Matthew Fox is a busy man these days, what with doctoring all those plane crash survivors while still managing to keep that beard stubble at a perfectly sexy length on ABC's Lost.

  Not one to rest on his laurels (or anything else), the Party of Five alum will be using his summer hiatus from the Lost to shoot the Wachowski Bros.' movie adaptation of Speed Racer. Fox has signed on to play Speed Racer's rival, Racer X.

  He joins Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer, Christina Ricci as Trixie, John Goodman as Pops and Susan Sarandon as Pop's wife. And if I knew anything at all about Speed Racer, that would mean something to me.
