• Naomi Watts dishes on The Birds remake

  ReelzChannel.com caught up with Naomi Watts at a recent press junket, where the blonde from down under gave an update on the status of her upcoming remake of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.

  "It's a work in progress at this point," Watts said. "The script isn't completely there yet. I've seen one draft, it's good, and there's more to develop."

  But even though the script for The Birds still needs some revision, Watts is excited about it." I think it's a wonderful film, there's great things in it that interest me," she said.

• What do Naomi Watts and Tippi Hedren have in common?

  Naomi Watts has added yet another project to her already bursting post-baby dance card: a remake of The Birds.

  Watts will star as the avian-plagued lead in Universal's 'reimagining' of the Daphne du Maurier short story, which of course gave birth to the Hitchcock classic.

  Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, The Legend of Zorro) is in talks to direct. Michael Bay will produce.

• Acting dealz: Watts, Carrey, and Craig - Oh my!

  Hardworking actors Naomi Watts, Jim Carrey and Daniel Craig just seem to love their jobs.

  Watts, who announced just two weeks ago her plans to star in The International with Clive Owen, may have just added another movie to her impending postpartum schedule. The Courier-Mail (Australia) reports that Liev Schrieber's baby momma has signed on to play baddie Narcissa Malfoy (mother of Draco and wife of Death Eater, Lucius) in the next film installment of the Harry Potter saga--Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince--along with other Potter newcomers Joseph Fiennes and Stuart Townsend.

  But MTV reports that the reps for all three are denying that this is the case. We'll keep you posted!

  ...As we reported earlier, Jim Carrey has made his plans to star in Yes Man official, says Variety. The comedy about a man who decides to say yes to every opportunity that presents itself is based on a memoir by British author Danny Wallace. Carrey plans film it next year after he wraps on A Christmas Carol...

  ...Hunky Brit Daniel Craig has signed on to reprise his roles as James Bond two more times. The first blond Bond will receive $26 million for filming James Bond 22 and 23, making him the highest paid actor in the UK, says The Guardian (London). • Acting dealz: Watts, Hines, and Robbins

  Everybody's favorite MILF Naomi Watts has no plans to rest on her laurels (or diaper pails or baby binkies or whatever) after the upcoming birth of her baby-to-be with Liev Schreiber.

  The very pregnant actress has just signed on to star in The International with Clive Owen, says The Hollywood Reporter. The action thriller about an Interpol agent obsessed with investigating a dodgy banking mogul will be directed by Tom Tykwer (Perfume).

  Curb Your Enthusiasm's Cheryl Hines has signed on to the Luke Wilson romantic comedy Henry Poole Is Here, about a man who finds out he only has six weeks to live, says Variety. It will be directed by Mark Pellington (The Mothman Prophecies).

  And finally, Tim Robbins and Martin Landau have joined Bill Murray in the cast of City of Ember, a quirky story about a town where the only light (from streetlamps) begins to fail. Based on the 2003 novel by Jeanne Duprau, the movie is being shot in Belfast under the direction of Gil Kenan (Monster House), says Variety.

  Most importantly, Tom Hanks is one of the producers. Considering that he also executive produced Starter for Ten, Band of Brothers, and Big Love, this can only mean good things.
