• Eliza Dushku Interested in Wet Live-Action Movie

  Eliza Dushku was one of a short list of actors whose name was bandied about when the role of the Black Widow was being cast for Iron Man 2. Dushku lost out to Scarlett Johansson, and she recently sounded off about it to MTV, saying:

  I think it went straight to Miss Thing. I get it, you know? I get it. She's pretty fierce.

  Despite missing out on playing the Black Widow, Dushku could be portraying a movie action hero in the new future, if the Wet video game that was released last month is a big enough hit. Developed by Bethesda and A2M, Wet is an action shooter game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 that stars a ruthless female heroine in Rubi Malone. Dushku provided the voice of Malone for the Wet game and she said that she would be interested in taking the role to the next level by portraying Malone on the big screen.

  Well, this video game Wet that I just did, is sorta ... she's got a working-class Lara Croft thing going on. And, she's pretty kick-ass. And she travels the globe and she's in Hong Kong and she's in the UK and she's a gun for hire and she's got two samurai swords. She's pretty vicious. So, that's been something that maybe could turn into a live-action Dushku vehicle.

  Dushku is currently starring in Joss Whedon's Dollhouse TV series on Fox.

• Lynda Carter Approves Eliza Dushku as Wonder Woman

  Should a Wonder Woman movie ever come out, Lynda Carter would back Eliza Dushku as the Amazonian goddess. Carter, the Wonder Woman from the 1970s TV series, told WENN: "I've always liked Joss and Eliza would make a great Wonder Woman."

  Carter, who also offered her services to help "groom" the next Wonder Woman, is referring to director Joss Whedon, who wrote a script for the movie in 2005 that he was slated to direct only to leave two years later for creative differences. In February's Maxim, Whedon clarified what really happened:

  I have no idea the status of the movie and, honestly, I never did. I was told they were very anxious to make it. I wrote a script. I rewrote the story. And by the time I'd written the second script, they asked me...not to. They didn't tell me to leave, but they showed me the door and how pretty it was. Would I like to touch the knob and maybe make it swing? I was dealing with them through [producer] Joel Silver who couldn't tell me what they wanted or anything else. I was completely in the dark. So I didn't know what it was that I wasn't giving them. I've moved on.

  Whedon may have moved on, however, Wonder Woman hasn't moved at all. Silver, who commissioned the first Wonder Woman screenplay back in 2001, recently told Comingsoon.net: "It's [Wonder Woman] in a constant state of development, but we just haven't been able to find the right way to do it yet, but hopefully we can and we can make it soon."

• It's Official: No Emily Blunt in Iron Man 2

  

  At the Oscars last night, E! caught up with Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, who said that Emily Blunt was officially out as Black Widow for Iron Man 2. According to The Playlist, Favreau told E! that Fox was indeed exercising their option on Blunt for Gulliver's Travels, and that she won't be available for Iron Man 2. Maybe now Eliza Dushku's campaign for the role is more than wishful thinking!

  Favreau also mentioned that while Mickey Rourke was not "officially cast," Favreau was still a big fan of Rourke. We have an idea of what may entice Rourke to sign on: a sum of money above $250,000.

• Johansson Wants Widow Role in Iron Man 2 Too!

  No sooner did we report about Eliza Dushku campaigning for the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2 than reports came in about another sexy starlett named Scarlett who also wants to play the part.

  This makes the third hottie in two weeks rumored for the role of Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. the KGB spy Black Widow, making it the hottest property in Hollywood right now.

  The first female offered the part was Emily Blunt, but she may be unable to accept due to conflicting movie schedules.

  The second was the aformentioned Dushku, but hers is a hopeful wish rather than an actual audition.

  Now, although it is yet uncertain whether Emily Blunt will step down, ScarJo's name has been thrown in as her potential replacement, and rumors say she has already met with the powers that be and is in the negotiation phase to fill the Russian superspy's shoes. Others add that Scarlett is just waiting for Blunt to officially give up the part. And some are suggesting this will all be settled by a girlfight.

  We made up that last one. At any rate, all this is still classified as rumor until Marvel confirms or denies everything.

• Eliza Dushku Campaigning for Role in Iron Man 2

  This morning on the Howard Stern radio show, hottie actress Eliza Dushku showed up to plug her new TV series Dollhouse, but when the topic turned to movies, and Iron Man II, she couldn't keep herself from campaigning for a part in the coming comic book movie.

  What part does she want to play? That of Natalia Romanova, a KGB super spy code named Black Widow.

  Last we heard, the part was already offered to Emily Blunt, the vaguely sexy secy of The Devil Wears Prada, but conflicting shooting schedules and a contractual obligation with 20th Century Fox's remake of Gulliver's Travels may cause her to abandon the role, leaving an opening for Eliza.

  Talking to Stern, Dushku commented:

  They're doing 'Iron Man 2,' and I'm so perfect for the Black Widow character, that they just need to get into it. They need to understand ... I just learned Russian because I had to play a Russian girl in 'Dollhouse.'

  From the serious sound of her appeal, her desire is not just radio show banter, but she really wants in. Before she left the studio she pleaded with Stern's audience to convince Marvel Studios to give her a tryout:

  Maybe we could all tell them. Let's get on a Black Widow 'Iron Man 2' campaign.

  No objections here. Eliza Dushku is significantly hotter than Emily Blunt. Look it up.
