  • Karate Kid Remake Getting Increasingly Ridiculous

Jackie ChanAs if having a Will Smith-Jada Pinkett spawn in the lead role wasn't enough to make for an ironically amusing mess of your favorite childhood movie, Jackie Chan is in final negotiations to star in the remake of The Karate Kid. Ten-year-old Jaden Smith, who you may remember from the Pursuit of Happyness (if you weren't tearing up throughout the whole sappy film leaving you unable to make out the boy's face) is already set to star. Perhaps this movie will be the big vehicle that certifies little Jaden as oh, we don't know, the new Dakota Fanning, but a boy.

Of course, Smith is quite a bit younger than when an early 20s Ralph Macchio played the lead in the 1984 original, but the new film is said to "only borrow" elements of the original's plot. We can only hope that some of the new elements involve robots and other such subtle Scientology subtext delicately added to the classic Wax-On-Wax-Off scene.

  • Exclusive Colin Chou Interview

Forbidden Kingdom opens this weekend, finally pairing Jackie Chan and Jet Li on screen at long last. And when you have two martial arts legends of this caliber on screen at the same time, you need someone pretty commanding as the villain in order to be believable.

That role went to Collin Chou as the villainous Jade War Lord. Chou has worked with Chan and Li before seperately and now he more than holds his own with these two larger-than-life legends in the same movie. In fact, Chou thinks he might even fare pretty well in a real life fith with Jackie or Jet.

Check out that story and more in our exclusive Colin Chou interview.

  • Forbidden Kingdom Review

The teaming martial arts enthusiasts have been awaiting for more than a decade has finally come to fruition on the silver screen... Jackie Chan and Jet Li, together at last!

The movie is Forbidden Kingdom and the story is actually better than it sounds. Michael Angarano lives out every teenage boy's fantasy as a martial arts-obsessed kid who is suddenly thrust into ancient China with the task of defeating the powerful Jade War Lord (Collin Chou) and freeing the Monkey King. Yes, it might sound a little like a stoner comedy (it could work on that level too, I suppose), but this one is better seen than explained.

Hear all about Jackie and Jet's teaming in our full Forbidden Kingdom Review!
