  • New Moon Fan Reviews

New Moon movie reviewsCritic reviews for the second Twilight Saga movie have run the gamut. However, when it comes to die-hard fans, the decision to see New Moon was made weeks ago. Entertainment Weekly reports that the movie is breaking pre-sales records and that Fandango has sold out several thousand New Moon showtimes.

But what will Twilight fans think of the movie? Will it be worth the wait? For a good indication, we looked to an early review posted on the fansite Novel Novice Twilight. Here's a recap of what their reviewer had to say:

Okay, I'm just going to say it. The Twilight Saga: New Moon is not a perfect movie. Critics — the really nasty ones — are going to nitpick and tear it to shreds. Which is really a shame, because while it is not a perfect movie — it's a wonderfully enjoyable movie. (For this fan, at least.) I’ll be honest, New Moon is my least favorite of the books — but I felt a new sense of appreciation for it while watching it unfold on the big screen.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is also a huge step-up from Twilight, in many ways. The overall scope and feel of the entire movie is both bigger and better.... And oddly enough — it actually felt to me like there was more romance between Bella and Edward in New Moon than there was in the first movie.... Can I also just say thank you to the folks who injected New Moon with all the action scenes?

For more fan reviews, come back tomorrow for our First Fans segment. And let us know what you think of the New Moon by posting a comment on the movie page.

  • Tracking New Moon's Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner

New MoonWith the New Moon premiere out of the way, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are making the promotional rounds before the movie's opening weekend. Given the record number of ticket sales at this point, their appearances are, in all practicality, more of a gift to the fans than a necessary marketing push.

Tonight, Pattinson will be on Late Show with David Letterman, and as you can imagine, hoards of fans and photographers flooded the streets outside the studio to see him arrive. You can see a gallery of shots at Gossip Center. After Letterman, fans can switch the channel to catch Stewart on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

And for anyone who missed Lautner's appearance on The Jay Leno Show earlier in the week, you can see it below. The clips include footage of his appearance on the Mickey Mouse Show years ago, tales of one passionate Twilight Mom at a recent signing, and a new, exclusive New Moon scene.

  • Robert Pattinson Talks New Moon

Robert PattinsonUK magazine Total Film has a new interview with Twilight Saga star Robert Pattinson, about all things New Moon.

On the subject of director Chris Weitz, the British heartthrob was only too eager to compliment his work, saying:

I really love Chris. Not only is he a good director, he's a great guy. God, I sound like such an arse-kisser! But he actually is. He didn't really try and change anything. He saw what me and Kristen were doing and worked within the realms of that."

When asked about Edward's story arc in New Moon, Pattinson came up with a serious answer, showing that he understands the character more than a lot of people give him credit for.

He's always talking in the first one. "I need to make the right decision. I need to do stuff for you, for you, for you." And he makes a decisive move, which is to leave her, and he completely believes it's for her own good. But in his heart, he obviously realises it's completely wrong. And it takes him the whole movie to realise the profundity of his mistake. So that's what his arc is. The world forces him to realise he needs to be with Bella, and there's no way around it.

We're betting thousands of Twilighters swooned after reading those words, before running to watch their Twilight DVD for the hundredth time. Can Pattinson do no wrong? We can't wait to see if loyalties will change after fans finally see New Moon — will Team Jacob take over? Or will Team Edward keep hold of the majority vote? We'll find out in November.

  • Robert Pattinson Says He Still Can't Get a Date

Robert PattinsonTwilight Saga heartthrob Robert Pattinson has once again announced to the world that he still can't get a date, despite his millions of fans and admirers.

In an interview with Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald, he talks about fans and fame, and goes on to say:

When the second one comes out, then I'll see how I am. Mostly I can ignore things to quite a big extent and kind of pretend they're not really happening. I just don't take any of it seriously. It's just a job and while it's a job I love, girls scream out for Edward, not Robert. I still can't get a date.

Call us skeptical, but we're certain Pattinson could get a date if he really wanted to — he has girls literally falling at his feet. Perhaps the rumors of an on-screen romance with co-star Kristen Stewart are true? We're not convinced, but we're not ruling the rumor out either.

  • First Image From The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Released

EclipsePeople magazine has released the first image from Eclipse in their October issue, along with two new stills from New Moon.

All of them feature Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, with the Eclipse one revealing a welcome costume change for both their characters. Edward has switched to a light blue shirt, while Bella has found a new checkered shirt that includes some colour — she must have had enough of her drab, dreary clothes from the first two movies. Thankfully, Stewart's wig looks realistic — you'd never be able to tell she chopped all her hair off and dyed it jet black right before Eclipse started filming. Now that's actor dedication of the highest standard.

  • Robert Pattinson and Hugh Jackman Have a Karaoke Competition
Robert Pattinson Actor Hugh Jackman's penchant for singing and dancing is well known, as is the musical side of Robert Pattinson, who recorded tracks for the Twilight and New Moon soundtracks. But singing karaoke ... to ABBA? According to what Pattinson told the Sydney Morning Herald, that's exactly what the two actors did to bond in anticipation of starring together in actress Madeleine Stowe's directorial debut, Unbound Captives.

We met up in Japan and we went karaoke singing. We were singing ABBA songs, it was pretty funny. It was sort of an ABBA song sing-off, you know, last man standing.

So who won the competition, Edward Cullen or Wolverine? Apparently, claws beat fangs when it comes to Swedish pop.

I think [Hugh] won, only because he can drink more than me and still sing in tune. He's a cool guy and I'm really looking forward to that film.

Stowe also wrote the screenplay for Unbound Captives, which is expected to begin filming before the end of the year. Rachel Weisz and Garret Dillahunt also star.

  • New Moon Music Video Now Online

The music video for Death Cab For Cutie's "Meet Me on the Equinox" is now online at MTV, and features new footage from the movie.

The scenes include Bella cliff diving, Alice's yellow Porsche 911 Turbo driving through Volterra, and Robert Pattinson very slowly removing his shirt. We also see the first few glimpses of Edward as an apparition, appearing to Bella when she's in danger. He looks like a fading ghost, haunting her at every opportunity. Still, the effect looks better than we thought it would, and makes more cinematic sense than just hearing his voice. Watch the video below, and as always, let us know what you think in the comments.

  • Robert Pattinson Talks Fame and Fans

Robert PattinsonTwilight superstar Robert Pattinson was recently interviewed for the Mexican magazine Joy, and Twilight Poison has posted the full translation.

On the subject of fame, Pattinson was his usual self-deprecating self:

It's very strange. I can say that everything has happened very fast. Like I'm fast-forwarding through life. Like everything around me is happening at 1000 m/p. The way you fast-forward a movie, just like that. I never thought the movie would cause such a stir. Seeing girls screaming around me is so bizarre. Sometimes I can't believe is all about me. It's like I'm living inside a movie, but I wake up and it's all real.

On New Moon fan expectation, he said:

I haven't been able to see the final cut of New Moon, and I've read so many comments and opinions about it already. It's something I can't understand. It's like everyone else can read into your future or, like they have more information of your life than you do.

After 2008's Twilight mania, Pattinson should be used to all the attention by now, especially from the female contingent of his worldwide fan club. As New Moon nears its release, and with Eclipse due next June, things won't get any easier on the publicity front. Buckle up, Rob — you're in for a bumpy ride.

  • Robert Pattinson to Play Prince Harry?

Robert PattinsonThe latest rumor in the Twilight world is that leading man Robert Pattinson has his sights set on portraying Prince Harry in the forthcoming movie The Spare. The movie will cover the life of England's young Prince, including all the highs and lows he's faced over the years. Peter Kosminsky is set to direct the project, and is rumored to be searching for a young male lead.

Pattinson certainly has the British advantage, as well as a dedicated audience that would see any movie graced with his presence. We're not sure whether he'd be right for the royal role, though he does have a somewhat colorful reputation — much like the Prince himself. Rupert Grint (Harry Potter) and Rupert Friend (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) have also been linked to the movie, and both are apparantly vying for the lead. Watch out, Robert Pattinson — you've got competition.

  • 77 New New Moon Images Now Online

Bella & EdwardFilmofilia.com has posted 77 new New Moon images, all taken from the New Moon Official Illustrated Movie Companion, which hits shelves tomorrow.

Now's your chance to see Edward kissing his beloved Bella, the Volturi, Carlisle in the 1800s, many half-naked werewolves, and Robert Pattinson wearing a very nice coat.

We're glad to see that Pattinson's hair has been successfuly Edward-i-fied, and that Kristen Stewart still makes Bella look like a dull, run-of-the-mill high school student. Really, has the costume department forgotten that the character likes to wear a bit of color every now and then? We're wondering how Elizabeth Reaser's Esme has managed to transform herself so successfully, considering her appearance should, in vampire lore, stay exactly as it was in Twilight. And as for Jackson Rathbone's strange stance and facial expression, we're just going to gloss over that one and pretend it doesn't exist.

On the plus side, the Volturi look mean and menacing, and Taylor Lautner looks set to score a legion of female fans. New Moon is definitely well on its way to being the biggest movie of the year, and with no box-office competition to worry about in November, we think it'll dominate theater screens for much longer than Twilight did.

  • Three New New Moon Posters Released

Bella and the CullensSummit Entertainment has finally released three new promotional posters for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, in what is surely only the beginning of a mass promotional campaign for the highly anticipated vampire movie.

The new images feature three separate groups: Bella and the Cullens, Jacob and the wolves, and the Volturi. We're not sure why Robert Pattinson has a square head, or why Kristen Stewart looks like a catwalk model, but these promotional images are certainly better than Twilight's Photoshopped monstrosities.

  • Michael Sheen on Shooting New Moon

Michael SheenMichael Sheen, the actor behind New Moon's Volturi vampire Aro, recently spoke to iesb.net about his role in The Twilight Saga. When asked about shooting his scenes in Italy, he said:

I would love to share my favorite experiences about Italy. Unfortunately, I can't because I didn't shoot any of it in Italy. The problem with doing interiors is that interiors can be filmed anywhere. So, next time, I'll have it in my contract that I have to do at least one exterior, in any film I do. My favorite experience about Italy was getting a text from Chris Weitz saying, "It's lovely here, isn't it?"

On the subject of being one of the older cast members on set, he politely sang the praises of his co-stars.

I think it's a good job that I was playing a millennia-old vampire because that's exactly how it felt to be on a set with people as beautiful as Robert [Pattinson], Kristen [Stewart], and Ashley [Greene], and all that lot. I felt like the old, decrepit uncle who's just hanging around, trying to get in with the cool kids. But, that helped with the character, so it was fun.

Good answer, Mr. Sheen — there's no way you, or anyone, can compete with teen king Robert Pattinson. We're not sure exactly how long his reign will last, but we're betting he's got a few years left in him yet.

  • New Set Pictures from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Eclipse newbornsNew pictures from the set of Eclipse have surfaced, including Carlisle and the wolves and Robert Pattinson, Ashley Greene, and Peter Facinelli on set. Of all the cast, Facinelli could easily pass for a real-life vampire, just look at his pale complexion and platinum blond hair — does he remind you of anyone from vampire TV shows past?

In addition to these new images, the Examiner also has a report round-up from last week's filming. Fan-favorite highlights from the fifth week of Eclipse include director David Slade's tweet about a Bella-Jacob kiss on a mountain, and images of some creepy newborn vampires submerged in water.

  • Tons of Behind-the-Scenes Images from New Moon

Robert PattinsonThe LA Times has released 41 behind-the-scenes images from the set of New Moon. As with its Twilight gallery from last year, these are also exclusive, never-before-seen images, and they show the actors against a green screen backdrop.

Included in the set are the obligatory topless Taylor Lautner pictures, which are sure to excite his legions of teenage fans. Robert Pattinson looks moody and haunted as Edward Cullen, and the less said about Kristen Stewart's awkward acting the better.

What do you think, Twilighters? Are you happy with how pale Edward is, or how buff Jacob is looking? In the grand scheme of things, would anyone really choose a bloodless vampire over a hunky werewolf? We're not so sure.

  • Latest New Moon Trailer Premieres at MTV Video Music Awards, Now Online

New MoonIn case there were any doubts the second movie in The Twilight Saga would play a big role in tonight's MTV Video Music Awards, Ashley Greene (Alice) quickly erased them by serving as the red carpet fashion correspondent. There she had the opportunity to interview Taylor Lautner, who told her he hadn't seen the latest New Moon trailer and was just as excited as the fans to see it.

Inside the theater, the Twilight torch was passed to Lautner, who helped present the first award — putting him center stage for Kanye West's ill-conceived attempt to steal the spotlight from Taylor Swift. Then, a good hour into the show, came the moment the fandom was waiting for: The return of Lautner with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and the third, "extended" New Moon trailer.

For any fans who missed it — or those looking to view it again — here it is.

  • Video Tour of The Twilight Saga's "Forks"

Quinton Ramage JacksonWhen it came time to bring Twilight to the big screen, Catherine Hardwicke and her crew couldn't use Forks — the picturesque town in Washington State, with a population of just over 3,000, lacked the housing and infrastructure for a film crew.

So, as any devout Twilight fan knows, Hardwicke and co. headed to Portland, Oregon, and surrounding towns for the filming. And in their wake, so have fans looking to get an up-close look at Bella and Edward's movie world.

Because not everyone can make the trip to Oregon — and because we fear the entire state lacks the housing and infrastructure for the sheer numbers that are the Twilight fanbase — we've put together a video tour of the movie's locales.

The Twilight Saga's New Moon Poster ReleasedYes, you read that right — the third (and final?) New Moon trailer will premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, September 13th.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner will introduce the new extended footage, which is sure to be viewed even more than the last one. On the same day, MTV.com will also debut the first single from the New Moon soundtrack, which is an exclusively written track from Death Cab For Cutie, titled "Meet Me on the Equinox."

  • Remember Me? Make that Respect Me, Robert Pattinson Fans Say

The Twilight Saga's New Moon Poster ReleasedTwilight's Edward Cullen may be nearly indestructible, but the fragility that comes with being human has some of Robert Pattinson's fans concerned.

In response to "several unfortunate incidents in New York" during the filming of Remember Me, a group of fans created a Respect Me campaign. Recently, they wrote in to tell us about their goals.

We believe that it is important to remember that celebrities are people too, and deserve to be treated with the basic respect we have all come to expect as human beings. We promote polite, career driven only, discussions about the celebrity in question. We do not condone screaming, chasing, and the general "fan girl" reactions.

They're also anti-gossip on their site. "If a gossip based post is up, it is taken down as soon as it is discovered." We're not much on reporting gossip ourselves, but we do enjoy periodically poking fun at it. What do you think, Twilighters, about the gossip and about giving Pattinson some breathing space?

The Twilight Saga's New Moon Poster ReleasedFor all those Twilighters out there wondering whether Robert Pattinson's New Moon physique is real, look no further — Justine Wachsberger (Gianna) has all the answers.

In an interview with Popeater, Wachsberger talked about her love for co-star Dakota Fanning, saying "I've always been a big fan. A very talented actress at such a young age". When asked about the possibility of her character returning in a Breaking Dawn movie, she said "I don't know much about Breaking Dawn at all at this point. Right now they're just focused on filming Eclipse. I hope they'll bring Gianna back, but who knows?"

On the much talked about subject of Robert Pattinson and his Edward-like appearance, she said "His stomach is definitely his stomach. I don't think it's painted on. Not that I heard of, at least!" What do you think, Twilighters? Do you agree? We think it might be make-up — after all, he's no Taylor Lautner.

  • BooBoo Stewart Talks Five Twilight Saga Movies

Breaking DawnBooBoo Stewart, the young actor behind Seth Clearwater's character in Eclipse, spoke to Access Hollywood about all things Twilight.

When asked about a Breaking Dawn movie, he said "I also heard there are gonna be three more movies. There's gonna be Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and there should be one more. Maybe."

Could this mean Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies, as previously suggested by author Stephenie Meyer? Or will it be something else entirely — unfinished Twilight companion Midnight Sun, perhaps? We can't think of a more popular movie than two whole hours of Robert Pattinson, and we bet the fans can't either.

  • The Official New New Moon Trailer, Plus Fan Reaction

This past weekend, the New Moon trailer hit the big screen before showings of Bandslam, another Summit production. The trailer also made a brief appearance on YouTube, thanks to a brazen moviegoer armed with a shaky hand-held camera. We're happy to announce that we now have a high-quality version direct from Summit.

So what do Twilight Saga fans think of this latest trailer? Robin at BellaAndEdward.com had this to say: "The good news? I definitely think it looks like New Moon is going to be better than Twilight, even though it is my least favorite book of the series. It comes across as being much richer visually. It also seems as though they really tried to stick to the books as much as they could."

But the Taylor Lautner narration didn't play as well. "I know they are pushing Taylor to the forefront so much because he is a big part of New Moon," says Kim at cullenboysanonymous.com, "but I would have rather just had a traditional trailer. Plus to be honest, New Moon to me is all about Edward. Why Edward left Bella, what was he thinking, what did he do while he was gone, etc." Michelle at BellaAndEdward.com also wasn't a fan of the interview approach: "As for the narration, I thought it distracted from the feel of the trailer. I can't even consider it a real 'trailer' because it has those little interview snippets with Taylor every 10 seconds."

In total, we posed five questions to some of our favorite Twilight fansites, including "What 'scene' were you happiest to see?" and "Was there anything that made you leery about the adaptation?" How did they respond? See The Latest New Moon Trailer: What the Fansites Really Think.

The new New Moon trailer, currently showing in theaters before Summit production Bandslam, has been leaked online.

The new scenes are interspersed with Taylor Lautner talking about the movie, and include Bella falling off her motorbike, a very buff looking Jacob, and the first glimpses of the wolfpack and the Volturi. Surprisingly, Robert Pattinson is nowhere to be seen — bar one or two quick blink-and-you'll-miss-him moments — and seems to have passed the leading man torch to Lautner. We're still trying to figure out why Jacob and Bella look to be getting in on some steamy lip-lock action — has Summit mixed up Meyer's books? Check out the new footage below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments.

  • Catalina Sandino Moreno Cast as Maria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse?

Catalina Sandino MorenoAccording to The Hollywood Reporter, 28-year-old Catalina Sandino Moreno has been cast as vampire Maria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Colombia native Moreno is best known for her role in Maria Full of Grace, and was recently seen in Che parts one and two.

Moreno is set to play Maria, the vampire who first finds Confederate Army Major Jasper Cullen during the Southern vampire wars. She's the vampire responsible for creating newborn armies and, along with her sisters Nettie and Lucy, overpowered many Mexican vampire clans. Moreno certainly looks the part — she's around the right age and, thanks to Che, we know she can definitely lean towards the menacing side. What do you think, Twilighters? Are you happy with the casting?

Eclipse is due to start shooting next week, and the movie's stars, including Robert Pattinson, have already started arriving in Vancouver. Let the Twilight madness begin (again).

  • Kristen Stewart Excited To Be Pregnant ... in Breaking Dawn

    Comic-Con 2009: San Diego

    Kristen Stewart

During the New Moon panel at Comic-Con the cast was asked what they were looking forward to in Breaking Dawn if/when it gets made into a movie. In a moment that seemed to fly over most people’s heads, Kristen Stewart said she was looking forward "to actually being pregnant." While subtle, it seemed to be a dig at all the baby gossip that's been surrounding her lately.

When the question got to Robert Pattinson, he responded, "The cesarean section." This can mean only one thing: Pattinson is excited to be a father ... in Breaking Dawn.

  • New New Moon Scene Descriptions

    Comic-Con 2009: San Diego

The Twilight Saga's New Moon Poster ReleasedFor those Twilighters not able to attend Comic-Con, Rotten Tomatoes has posted an in-depth description of the two New Moon scenes shown at today's movie panel.

The first clip featured Bella (Kristen Stewart), Jacob (Taylor Lautner), an apparition of Edward (Robert Pattinson), and a motorbike.

Suddenly, Bella sees the translucent apparition of Edward, a concerned look on his face, standing in front of her. We can see him, but also see through him. Bella takes off on the bike. As she zooms down the road, Bella gains speed. She zooms by another apparition of Edward, standing in her path. She speeds by another. Losing focus, Bella swerves and falls from the bike, hitting her head on a rock.

Following this, director Chris Weitz unveiled another clip that showed Alice (Ashley Greene), Bella, and a half-naked Edward in Volterra, Italy.

Bella fights her way through the crowd, stopping at the fountain in the middle of the square. In slow motion, she looks up to see Edward, slowly unbuttoning his shirt just moments away from revealing himself in the sunlight. He opens his shirt to expose his pale chest.

So, Twilighters, are you happy with Edward appearing as an apparition? Are you excited to see more Pattinson than you expected? Let us know in the comments.

SDCC New Moon castImages are starting to pour in from SDCC, with New Moon's superstar cast at the top of everyone's must-see list.

More mismatched than last year, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner look nothing like their characters, instead choosing to appear like they've been plucked from movie obscurity. KStew's rocker hairdo is so un-Bella like it's hard to focus, Lautner looks like a brunette beefcake, and RPattz seems to have forgotten to pick a shirt the world hasn't seen before. At the movie's press conference, the three young stars talked up the movie and looked decidedly less awkward than they did last year. Either they've gotten used to their poopularity or they've been given a strong talking to. It doesn't look good if your main actors are half asleep, does it?

  • New Moon Quotes from San Diego Comic-Con

    Comic-Con 2009: San Diego

The Twilight Saga's New Moon Poster ReleasedMovies Online has been busy compiling quotes from today's Comic-Con New Moon press conference, which includes these interesting tidbits:

Robert Pattinson on how Edward will appear in the movie:

Through a kind of process, it's just a voice. It's Edward's voice in the book so I guess it would probably look pretty cheesy if it were just my voice. They've done these hallucinations, kind of semi-visible apparitions.

Taylor Lautner talks about life as a wolf:

I don't know, I thought they did a pretty good job with the wolf transformation. I'm excited that there's werewolves involved now because the werewolves definitely step up the action in the movie. There's double the action in this movie than there was before. There's also a double dynamic. There's not just this romance between a human and a vampire. It's the beginning of a love triangle.

    Kristen Stewart addresses Edward's absence:

It's suggestive. It's how she remembers him. Not necessarily how he actually is. If he doesn't go, you can't miss him. That's what this whole movie's about is that empty, completely dark place where Edward is absent.

    Excited yet? We are.

  • Behind the Scenes and New Image from New Moon

Bella and Jacob cozy up in New MoonThe LA Times has just released its on-set report from New Moon, which includes a brand new movie image of lovebirds Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner).

They also talk about Robert Pattinson's extra scenes filmed for the movie, which will see him take on a bigger role than in the book. Gone is the wire work and dodgy effects seen in Twilight, and it's now all green screen and digital insertion:

The plan is to digitally insert Pattinson, who plays swoony good guy vampire Edward Cullen, into a scene that was filmed much earlier — one in which he appears as a spectral vision to his costar, Kristen Stewart, cautioning her headstrong character, Bella Swan, against hanging out with some unsavory-looking biker types.

It seems Summit has seen the error of its visual effects ways, and has gone down the more believable route. No doubt fans are praying that when Edward next sparkles, he doesn't sound like Tinkerbell gone wrong.

  • Robert Pattinson Upstaging Daniel Radcliffe

    Daniel Radcliffe

Poor Daniel Radcliffe. The Harry Potter mega-franchise debuted his latest film this week to record-breaking numbers, but everyone keeps asking him questions about his one-time co-star — and current Twilight sensation — "sex symbol" Robert Pattinson.

In an interview with MTV, Radcliffe had to steer questions about Pattinson and Twilight back to himself and Harry Potter.

It's really interesting for me, as somebody who is a central feature of a pretty huge franchise. It's interesting to watch — because I haven't seen Twilight — and to suddenly be able to just watch another franchise go massive is really interesting.

I have no concept of what Potter looks like to the rest of the world because I'm so involved in it. So to watch Twilight kind of explode globally had been fascinating.

Robert PattinsonEven Radcliffe's co-star, Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Potter series, has found herself having to answer questions about Pattinson. She told MTV:

I'm not surprised he's been successful. I'm surprised that it's got this insane. I think he's a great actor.

  • Harry Potter Star Calls Robert Pattinson a "Sex Symbol"

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry PotterApparently, actor Daniel Radcliffe has something of an inferiority complex. At least, that is, when it comes to his former Harry Potter co-star and current Twilight sensation Robert Pattinson. While at the New York City premiere of his latest film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Radcliffe spoke highly of Pattinson at his own expense:

Rob Pattinson is a sex symbol. Rob Pattinson is a genuine sexy guy. He's got the height.

If you like short and nerdy, then I'm a sex symbol.

Life imitating art? After all, Pattinson's character in the Harry Potter movies, Cedric Diggory, was Harry's dashing rival for the affections of Cho Chang.

Robert Pattinson in The Twilight Saga: New MoonWhen asked about his own love life, Radcliffe said:

As a romantic leading man, I try to keep my personal life as far removed from the film as possible.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince also stars Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Michael Gambon as Albus Dumbledore.

  • Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Gossip Fills New Moon Void

New MoonWith filming for The Twilight Saga: New Moon done and Eclipse not scheduled to start for at least another month, it appears a storm of gossip and speculation is swirling up to fill the news void.

First, there's the claim of a Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson baby bombshell, splashed across the cover of an Australian tabloid — and then reported by the NY Daily News. That ought to further increase the hate mail bombarding Stewart from angry fans who believe she's "two-timing Rob with Michael Angarano," her longtime boyfriend.

And then The Vancouver Sun is reporting that Pattinson is "terrified and losing weight" during his NYC shooting of Remember Me. The cause? Rabid tween and teen girls fawning over him wherever he goes. This comes just weeks after he was supposedly "clipped by a cab" while trying to run away from "hysterical fans."

The only member of the New Moon cast that seems to be faring well is Kellan Lutz. Apparently he's become "cougar bait." In Touch Weekly says he told them that his fanbase ranges "from young teenagers all the way to their 40-year-old mothers!"

  • New Moon Stars Talk Key Scenes

B/E TrailerMTV recently spoke to the cast of New Moon, who revealed a few important details about the upcoming movie.

Edward actor Robert Pattinson said of the movie's scale, "I liked doing Twilight, but it felt very much like an indie movie -- and [New Moon] definitely feels like it's a big movie." Mike Welch, the man behind Bella-admirer Mike Newton, talked about the Bella-Jacob-Mike date scene from the book, and attributed its inclusion in the movie to co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

The Twilight Saga's New Moon Poster Released
Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner had to lobby to get this one scene in the film that wasn't originally in -- and I am forever indebted to them for that. There's a scene that's in the book, the three-way date between Jacob and Bella and Mike, where Mike ends up getting sick, and it's just very awkward.

Ashley Greene also confirmed Alice's Porsche-stealing scene had been filmed, and said "It was really fun." Twilighters can now relax and stop worrying about director Chris Weitz, as it looks like all their favorite scenes will be included in the movie. As long as he doesn't mess up the much adored semi-proposal, he'll be sure to stay on fans' good sides.

Pierce BrosnanPierce Brosnan (Die Another Day, Mamma Mia!), Chris Cooper (American Beauty), and Emilie de Ravin (Lost) are the latest actors rumored to be joining Robert Pattinson on Summit's upcoming movie Remember Me.

Pattinson is due to play a young man sleepwalking through life after his brother's suicide tears his family, including Daddy Brosnan, apart. De Ravin will play a woman who, after witnessing her mother's murder, decides to live life to the fullest, with Cooper tipped to play her father.

Production begins in New York on June 15, which is just enough time for Twilight star Pattinson to return from his travels in Italy. As long as Pierce Brosnan doesn't launch into an Abba-style musical number, we're sure he'll do just fine. • Peter Facinelli Completes New Moon Filming

Peter FacinelliTwilight dad Peter Facinelli has now finished filming his New Moon scenes and, in a recent interview with Access Hollywood, had nothing but good things to say about the cast and crew.

Of director Chris Weitz, Facinelli said he's a "calming force" who is "very Zen-like." He also spoke about the first scene of the movie, Bella's 18th birthday party, and said Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) does "a fantastic job, 'cause he just really went for it.'" It sounds like things are going well over at the New Moon set, and with a trip to Italy next on the agenda, the movie seems well on its way to completion.

On a side note, is Peter Facinelli now sharing a wardrobe with co-star Robert Pattinson? Talk about a father-son bond -- we could hardly tell the difference.

  • Robert Pattinson to Star in New Dune Movie?

Robert PattinsonRobert Pattinson has sparked more rumors about his upcoming movie roles, after he was spotted leaving director Peter Berg's Beverly Hills pad.

Berg, who directed 2008's hit Hancock, is set to helm the 2010 update of Frank Herbert's Dune. A cast list is yet to be announced, but the inclusion of Hollywood's hottest heartthrob would be sure to put the movie on the money-making map.

What do you think, Twilighters? Would this be a good move for Pattinson? There's no doubt he can draw an audience, though we're not sure Dune would be the right role to please fans. Still, as long as there was a slew of new pictures of the messy-haired actor, we're sure complaints would be the last thing on everyone's mind.

  • Kellan Lutz Talks Rob, Italy, and David Slade

Kellan LutzAccess Hollywood recently spoke to Twilight's Kellan Lutz about filming in Italy, staying in Robert Pattinson's room, and the controversy surrounding Eclipse director David Slade's comments.

Lutz, most famous for his role as large-but-loveable vampire Emmett Cullen, pleaded ignorance to any knowledge of Slade's negative comments, but did say that he still thinks he'll bring a "great vision" to the movie.

When asked about filming the Volterra scenes in Italy, Lutz said, "I'm going there and I'm going to crash in Rob's room and make fun of him, 'cause I'm going to do a lot of sightseeing while he's shooting." At the mention of Pattinson's hotel room, thousands of Twilighters undoubtedly made plans to find, and camp outside, the room in question. We just hope Italy has good security ... and a large barricade or two.

  • Robert Pattinson's New Movie Little Ashes Not Playing Well with Critics

Robert Pattinson's efforts to expand his career beyond GQ covers and the Twilight franchise may be hitting a snag with the release of Little Ashes, a movie based on the life and loves of Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí. Reviews are lukewarm at best, and apparently they've got nothing to do with Pattinson's nearly-full-frontal-nudity scene, which was widely panned.

5"...it's a speculative, impressionistic portrait without a lot of dramatic force or psychological depth. But it's an elegantly designed film that fascinates as often as it frustrates."

    -- Stephen Farber, Hollywood Reporter

4"...a typically bombastic lives-of-the-artists production made even more stilted by having all the actors (including the Spanish ones) speak accented English..."

    -- Melissa Anderson, Village Voice

1"...less a film than just a series of bad ideas piled on top of one another..."

    -- Lauren Wissot, Slant Magazine

  • More Edward in New Moon

The Twilight Saga's New MoonWhile talking to E! Online, Twilight Saga screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg addressed the more-Edward-in-New-Moon rumors, as well as her personal pick for the character of Riley in Eclipse. She said:

In the book, [Edward]'s actually an enormous presence in [Bella's] mind. He's so present in her mind throughout the entire center of the book, so we really played off that, and it kept him alive in a slightly different way, but fans will feel it's true to the book. You can't have a Twilight without Rob Pattinson.

Whether this will go down well with fans is anyone's guess, as they're all very protective of the original source material. And rightly so, too. Why change an element that is adored by millions of Twilighters?

Rosenberg also talked about Channing Tatum, and how she feels he'd be perfect for the role of Riley in Eclipse. Well, he's definitely got the beefcake look going on, but a vampire? Hmm. He'd have to perfect a mean I'm-going-to-eat-you look first.

  • Party Time for New Moon

The Twilight Saga's New MoonRumor has it filming of New Moon's Cullen-house scenes wrapped yesterday, ending with what looks like Bella's birthday party.

Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Nikki Reed (Rosalie), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper), Kristen Stewart (Bella) , and Robert Pattinson (Edward) were all spotted wearing birthday party attire, in order to film what is one of the most important scenes in the book -- the scene where everything goes wrong.

We're happy to see that Reed's blonde wig looks more realistic than previous efforts, and this time we hope Rosalie's hair will stop changing in every scene (Twilight, anyone?). Even she isn't clever enough to change her hair whilst running from a murderous vampire. Continuity, people. It's important.

  • Robert Pattinson Replaces Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 4

Spider-ManThe news dropped like a bombshell early this morning that Sony Pictures has signed Robert Pattinson (Twilight) to replace Tobey Maguire in the titular role in Spider-Man 4.

In the official press release, Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures and Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, announced that Pattinson would not only be assuming the role of Peter Parker and his alter-ego, Spider-Man, in Spider-Man 4, but also in Spider-Man 5 and in a spin-off film to be announced at a later date.

It is no secret that Pascal has been shopping around for an actor to fill the red-and-blue tights for some time. Only a few months ago, negotiations between Sony and Maguire nearly broke down because of the actor's reluctance to return to what he described as a "worn-out concept."

Sam Raimi, the cult film director and mastermind behind the multi-billion dollar Spider-Man franchise, recently blamed the failure of Spider-Man 3 to meet expectations on corporate control interfering with his creative process. Is the Sony Pictures press release another example of the type of control Raimi was referring to or a step toward realizing the director's vision for the franchise?

When asked to comment on the press release, Raimi said:

Decisions like these are always difficult. I know the fans liked Tobey -- and I greatly enjoyed working with him -- but Robert is the future of the franchise.

The press release did not indicate what the spin-off film might be, but recent speculation has focused on Morbius, a mainstay in the Spider-Man comic book mythology. In the comics, Morbius is a "living vampire," a victim of an ill-fated experimental treatment involving vampire bats and shock therapy.

There has been no word from Tobey Maguire's representatives.

    Happy April Fool's Day!

  • First Look at Robert Pattinson's Little Ashes

Access Hollywood has several exclusive clips from Robert Pattinson's upcoming indie movie Little Ashes.

Little Ashes sees Pattinson play 18-year-old artist Salvador Dali, and follows Dali's university years in Madrid circa 1922. Also starring Javier Beltran as Federico Garcia Lorca and Matthew McNulty as Luis Bunuel, the film has so far garnered critical acclaim, though it's still unclear whether it will be released in theaters.

As his character experiments with his sexuality, Twilighters can expect to see a different side of Pattinson. Do you think this was a good career move? We're sure his hordes of fans will soon be sharing their opinions, though with the film rated R, we're not sure many of them will actually get to see it.

  • Memoirs Next for Robert Pattinson

Robert PattinsonAs if Robert Pattinson doesn't already have enough to do, he's now in talks to star in romantic drama Memoirs. Summit Entertainment is set to finance the project, with Allen Coulter (Hollywoodland) linked as a possible director.

This could prove to be a wise move on Summit's behalf, and you can bet your life savings that every Twilight fan would flock to the theater to see their favorite bronze-haired vampire. Don't believe us? You only have to mention Little Ashes -- a film which sees Pattinson starring as artist Salvador Dali -- to be greeted with a fangirl squeal of epic proportions. • Supermodel Noot Seear to Play Heidi in New Moon

Noot SeearNot long after the Wolfpack was officially cast , E! Online have exclusively revealed that Noot Seear will be playing Heidi in New Moon.

25-year-old Seear is a Canadian supermodel, and hails from Vancouver. Having previously modeled for magazines such as Elle and Vanity Fair, she's now decided to try her hand at acting. Her character, Heidi, works for Italian vampire clan the Volturi, and is mostly responsible for making sure they have enough humans to eat.

AnnaLynne McCord (90210) was previously rumored to be playing the part, but confirmed scheduling conflicts soon put an end to that. • Ryan Reynolds Is an RPattz Fan

Ryan ReynoldsRobert Pattinson has another fan to add to the hordes of screaming girls he can't help but find himself surrounded by, and this one comes in the form of Blade: Trinity and Smokin' Aces star Ryan Reynolds.

Speaking to MTV, Reynolds said of Pattinson, "Oh my God,are you kidding me? Robert Pattinson in a word: dreamy."

Reynolds also talked about his role in upcoming movie Adventureland, which stars Twilight's very own Kristen Stewart. Reynolds' character, Mike, is twice the age of Stewart's Em, yet still indulges in a romantic affair. He said of his eighteen-year-old co-star "She's an old, old soul. Sometimes I wonder if she's one of the Golden Girls with a great face lift.”

Well, we're glad KStew has at least one fan besides Nikki Reed and boyfriend Michael Angarano. She doesn't seem to be getting much support from Twilighters, though maybe it'd help if she stopped referring to the fandom as "obsessive" and "retarded."

RobertAccording to the National Ledger, Robert Pattinson was the recipient of a nasty blow to the head during filming of New Moon. Apparantly, a "rogue gust of violent wind tore a heavy metal sign from a post," which then proceeded to hit Pattinson and knock him to the ground.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, and Rachelle Lefevre all appear and take turns thanking the "best fans in the world."

Lefevre and Greene are both wearing some pretty cool vampire contacts, while Pattinson's hair looks like it needs to grow a few inches to match Edward's trademark long locks that we first saw in Twilight. In order to stick to Stephenie Meyer's no-change-to-physical-appearance vampire mythology, perhaps it's time for some hair extentions to make an appearance.

  • Robert Pattinson Rumored To Be Dating Natalie Portman

Robert Pattinson Dating Natalie PortmanThere are plenty of reasons to love-to-hate Natalie Portman. She's obviously beautiful. She's really smart -- not only did she graduate from Harvard, she earned high marks while there from the likes of Alan Dershowitz. She an ethical vegetarian who actually seems to practice what she preaches, even designing her own line of vegan shoes, as she doesn't wear leather. She is, in short, on another level of humanity ... and now this.

Rumors are circulating that the young actress is dating Robert Pattinson. Sources say the two met at a pre-Oscars party in February and have been in touch ever since. "He seemed to be enjoying every minute of it," says an insider of their meeting. "She dominated his attention for most of the evening."

  • Not Much Spark Between Twilight Leads?

Stewart - PattinsonDiamond-skinned glampire Edward and deliciously blood-filled mortal Bella may be leading candidates for this year's MTV Best Kiss Award, but what kind of attraction was there betweem the actors who played those roles? A while back, a supposedly hacked Robert Pattinson Facebook account revealed hints (okay, overtly boasts) of an intimate relationship with his co-star Kristen Stewart. But did that actually happen? Or did the fire fade so quickly? Here's Robert Pattinson on the spark he shared with his co-star: "I enjoyed the process of creating these characters with her. We would spend all night talking about our scenes and the next day we would defend our points of view. That creative energy made us have a very special bond." Translation: "Honestly, I think I'd rather kiss a baboon in an old Frankenstein mask than kiss Kristen Stewart. But when you're in a hit movie, you gotta do what you gotta do." For the record, we here at ReelzChannel think Kristen Stewart is a lovely young woman. And we like Pattinson too, Medua hair and all. But phrases like "enjoyed the process of creating these characters with her" and "very special bond" hardly scream "romantic attraction." Heck, they don't even it mutter it half-heartedly.

  • Twilight Stars Angry at Director's Dismissal

Kristen Stewart and Robert PattinsonIs there trouble in teen vampire paradise? Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the Twilight franchise, wants to whip out a sequel while the original's fans are still bloodthirsty and its stars still look vaguely teenish. It has canned Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, whose perfectionist streak would not accommodate such a quick production schedule. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Hardwicke's departure has angered burgeoning stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who want no part of a rush job that fails to live up to the standards Hardwicke set for the first iteration. Stewart is reported to be "especially" furious -- but hopefully such feelings will have dissipated when shooting starts. Nothing can derail a vampire movie like stars delivering contractually required, zombie-like performances.

  • Director's Return May Hinge on Bigger Budget for Twilight Sequel New Moon

New MoonA surprise appearance by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke at a screening last weekend provoked squeals of excitement from fans of the movie. It was, Entertainment Weekly observes, "as if Zac Efron -- or Twilight's own Rob Pattinson, for that matter -- had just strode on stage and dropped his drawers." Yet whether or not she will be the director of New Moon remains up in the air. She has not yet officially signed on for the sequels and was reportedly sequestered with lawyers, agents and studio executives over the weekend, trying to work out a deal. One issue is that she felt hamstrung by the modest budget for Twilight, complaining that financial constraints kept her from doing some of the "very crazy, cool stuff that I wanted to do." She is particularly concerned that the budget for the sequel be big enough for location shooting in Rome and special effects that will realistically morph teenage boys into werewolves. But studio executives say that they are not yet sold on a higher budget for the sequel despite the original's spectacular success.

Still, there are already signs of budget increases to come, with Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson rumored to be getting a hefty $10 million salary hike for each of the sequels.

  • Twilight Sequel New Moon Announced

Summit Entertainment announced a sequel to the massive hit Twilight a day after the movie opened (earning $35.7 million opening day will do that). No one seems more pleased than Twilight author Stephenie Meyer who said in the Summit press release: "I don't think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on NEW MOON."

With Twilight finishing the weekend by earning $70.6 million -- the 4th-biggest opening weekend all year -- who can blame her?

No announcement was made on the cast, director, or whether screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will adapt the sequel, though Twilight star Robert Pattinson already mentioned to the Seattle Times that the New Moon script was "already done."

  • Making it Onto the Twilight Soundtrack Takes Pattinson by Surprise
    Robert Pattinson
Robert Pattinson on red carpet for
    Twilight premiere. Nov. 17, 2008.

In an interview with Film.com, Robert Pattinson dishes on the music of Twilight and explains how getting onto the soundtrack took him by surprise. Catherine Hardwicke (the director) somehow got ahold of a CD of stuff he had recorded years ago on his computer and worked it into a cut. "I didn't even realize what it was at first," Pattison says. And even then he had no idea that the song would make it onto the soundtrack. It was a good fit, he thinks, but despite the soundtrack's success, he says he has no plans to try and spin it into a music career.

Although Pattinson agrees that the music of Twilight helps set the mood for the movie, he shrugs off the suggestion that Edward is really emo: "Every single day is exactly the same thing. If he feels anything, he shuts it down immediately. He doesn't let himself feel anything at all, so I guess it's the opposite. Or he's a closet emo."

Here's the complete Twilight soundtrack song/artist listing. You can download the whole thing for 7 bucks.

By donning an American accent, employing the aid of makeup for that proper pale vamp look, and speaking with creator Stephenie Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, Pattinson got the proper feel for Edward and fans should certainly be pleased with the end result.

One aspect of the character he was unable to master was Edward's ample physical abilities, particularly pertaining to America's pastime. "I'm completely malcoordinated," the actor recently told ReelzChannel. "I'm terrible at all sports and I don't see the point in them. I had a baseball coach. Catherine [Hardwicke] was so determined to make me look like a professional baseball player. I could not take it seriously. They said, "You have to have a ready position" and so, for the rest of the shoot, when there was blocking or anything I'd say, "I'll do it in my ready position," no matter what the scene was."

"I did quite a few of [the stunts], but I had a really good stunt double. It's like, I can do something, get injured and look crap doing it, or he can do it and make it look really good and no one notices the difference. (Laughs) I did a bunch of it, but I managed to get injured whenever I did even the simplest of stunts. I tried to pick up Kristen and I almost ripped my hamstring. It's not even a stunt. She weighs like 50 pounds."

  • Twilight Fans Start Mini Riot in San Francisco Mall

Don't underestimate the attraction of Twilight.

They only expected 300 to 500 fans to show up at a small Hot Topic store in a San Francisco mall where Twilight star Robert Pattinson would be doing a signing. So the lone security guard on hand was caught totally by surprise by the more than 3,000 who actually turned up. And then things really started to spin out of control, as disputes over who would get in culminated in a melee that left at least one girl bloody and others trampled. The San Francisco signing was cancelled, but the Hot Topic tour is scheduled to continue with cast appearances throughout the week, and a similar event in Seattle went off without a hitch.

TMZ has video of the crowd, and KCBS has an audio report with first hand accounts from the scene.

  • Initial Twilight Fan Reaction Not so Warm for Pattinson, Stewart, and Gathegi

    Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Now that the Twilight faithful have gotten the chance to see the cast in posters, trailers, and still images, the overall reaction to the casting choices is positive. But this was far from the case at the get-go.

Message boards, fan sites, and blogs were awash with venom when the largely unknown cast was first announced for the adaptation of book one of Stephenie Meyer's wildly popular Twilight series. As any regular Internet surfer has surely observed, the more rabid the fan base, the more outright cruel the comments tend to get.

Speaking to the cast of Twilight this weekend, I found the group has managed to emerge unscathed, winning over the fans bit by bit in the months leading up to the November 21st release. But each has had their fair share of mixed emotions about first being introduced to the fan base.

"I've had girls move down autograph tables and look at me with a severe amount of disdain," says star Kristen Stewart, who portrays the story's heroine, Bella. "That is a little unnerving. [They say to me] 'Just [write] your name. Can you not write anything besides your name?'"

"You can go online and cry about what's posted on IMDb or you can read it and get a kick out of it. I have to say, honestly, genuinely, it really doesn't bother me."

Perhaps no one had a tougher time of it than Robert Pattinson, described in the novels by Meyer as being almost impossibly beautiful.

"All my [reactions were] like, 'He looks like a bum,'" Pattinson says with a chuckle.

"I was expecting that, though. I would have had the same reaction. I was embarrassed even going into the audition. I thought I'd be judged. You look on the synopsis and it's like 'Edward is the perfect man. He has impeccable face, body -- everything about him is amazing.' I was quite happy when it was 100 percent negative. I was like, 'Thank you, I'm not perfect. I'm rugged.'"

Edi Gathegi, who portrays the vampire Laurent, decided to face his attackers head-on, using humor to win them over. "The fans were sort of disgruntled about my casting choice," says Gathegi. "Stephenie doesn't necessarily have an African-American in the book and Laurent is described as being 'olive-toned.' So what I did is I decided to address the issue head on. I said, 'Listen, she describes this character as being olive-toned, but there are many different types of olives. Black olives, anyone?'"

  • Stewart and Twilight Vamps All Signed for Three Movies

    Twilight Poster

ReelzChannel was the envy of young girls across the nation this weekend, spending an entire Saturday with the cast of Twilight.

Summit Entertainment, which made Twilight, is thrilled with the early hype around the November 21st release, but they are being cautious not to count their chickens before they hatch. Most industry insiders already consider an adaptation of the second book, New Moon, a foregone conclusion, but thus far Summit has only admitted to pre-production work on the script.

During the course of the marathon junket, we had the chance to confirm that each and every character from the book series is signed on to three Twilight movies.

What about Breaking Dawn? Since the book wasn't out when the contracts were drawn up, it was not part of the deal. Translation? If this series gets all the way to part four, Summit is either recasting or Stewart, Pattinson, Lautner, and crew can look forward to a nice, fat raise.
