• Men in Black 3 Announced - But will Will be in the Sequel?

  Sony announced yesterday that they are doing a third installment of the Men in Black series, but there is not word yet whether Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones are involved.

  Details are limited this early on and the production company has only just now started searching for a screenwriter.

  Men in Black 3 is scheduled for a summer of 2011 release, piling on an already stacked summer with the releases of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Avengers, and Spider-Man 4 all coming out at the same time.

• Next Santa Barbara celebrant: Tommy Lee Jones

  The Santa Barbara Film Festival has announced that it will give this year's American Riviera Award (for strong influence in American cinema) to Tommy Lee Jones.

  Jones has been receiving quite a bit of awards buzz for his performances in both No Country for Old Men and In the Valley of Elah. And whither Santa Barbara goes, Oscar has been known to follow--just ask previous American Riviera winners Forest Whitaker (Best Actor 2006 for The Last King of Scotland) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Best Actor 2005 for Capote).

• Oscar movie season commences

  Fall is the time that studios start to roll out their Oscar contenders, and critics are already buzzing about some of the movies that might make the cut.

  We found a great article on Reuters mentioning a few of the buzz-worthy movies to watch. And having seen some of them, we can definitely agree that we'd keep an eye on Tommy Lee Jones for a Best Actor nomination for In the Valley of Elah, which hits theaters in September.
