  • Clive Barker inspired by "Special Cookies"

Cliver BarkerDuring a panel to promote the upcoming Lionsgate flick Midnight Meat Train, horror legend Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Candyman) provided the 2007 Comic-Con with its most enjoyable moments thus far.

Rambling, occasionally incoherent and highly entertaining throughout, Barker had the audience in stitches as he spoke about the THC-laced culinary inspiration for the titles of his stories:

"I had a bunch of short stories without titles attached to them. And my friend Simon (Bamford, appeared in the 1990 Barker flick Nightbreed) brought these cookies to a party. I have a very sweet tooth and I devoured these cookies. And then I felt very, very strange. Simon came back and said 'Where are the cookies?' And I said that I ate them. And he goes, 'Well, they're special cookies.' And....oh my God. And eventually I ended up with eleven titles."

Midnight Meat Train stars Vinnie Jones, Bradley Cooper and Leslie Bibb. It's currently slated for a 2008 release.
