  • Fox May Be Revisiting Hitman

HitmanThough it came and went without making many waves, Hitman, the 2007 adaptation of the popular video game series, may be coming back for another round of box-office mayhem. The original movie, directed by Xavier Gens from a script by Skip Woods, earned $100 million on a $30-million budget, which may be the impetus for revisiting the property.

According to a recent article in Variety, Twentieth Century Fox has hired screenwriter Kyle Ward to pen a new script, using story elements from the upcoming Hitman 5 game from Eidos, due out in 2010.

There's no word on whether actor Timothy Olyphant would be willing to reprise his role as Agent 47, the world's greatest assassin, in a Hitman sequel.

  • Liam Neeson May Join The A-Team

When it was first announced that the 80s TV series The A-Team was getting the big screen treatment, there were many who groaned and complained that Hollywood was fresh out of ideas.

However, with acclaimed filmmaker Ridley Scott and series creator Stephen J. Cannell producing the movie, it seems likely to feature high production values and a grittier tone than similar adaptations.

Now it's been revealed that Ridley is looking to fill the cast with "A"-list talent: Liam Neeson is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to play Colonel John "Hannibal" Smith, the role originally portrayed by George Peppard. Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces) will direct from a script by Skip Woods (G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra).

Neeson recently completed filming another remake, portraying Zeus in Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans.

The A-Team production begins in August for a June 11, 2010, release.
