  The trailer for the latest "hotsploitation" slasher flick Sorority Row showed a lot of promise. Now the reality of the actual movie is setting in.

• Holy Holograms, was that Princess Leia on CNN During Election Night?

  In what was perhaps the most surreal segment of election night coverage, CNN correspondent Jessica Yellin materialized for an interview with Wolf Blitzer via hologram. Or at least what looked like a hologram. Apparently the technology used to make the CNN correspondent float about the CNN press center in New York was not quite Star Wars, but was done using overlay images and a green screen. And if you hadn't already caught the allusion, Yellin made the homage explicit, explaining "It's like I follow in the tradition of Princess Leia" as she popped into election central, flickering blue around the edges.

• Veronica Mars dons "Slave Leia" outfit in Fanboys

  In the pantheon of hot fangirl costumes, classic outfits like Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Catwoman have all stood the test of time, making fanboys drool for the better part of three decades. But none of them can hold a candle to Slave Leia, the costume inspired by gold bikini that Carrie Fisher famously wore in Return of the Jedi.

  Speaking at yesterday's Comic-Con, the makers of Fanboys, a new comedy about a group of geeks hell-bent on seeing The Phantom Menace before it opens in theaters (The movie is set in 1999), revealed that former Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell donned the Slave Leia outfit for a key scene in their film.
