You read that headline correctly. Peabody Award-winning South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed on to produce and direct the G-rated comedy Giant Monsters Attack Japan!, reports the L.A. Times.
The story, about an 8-year old American boy obsessed with Japanese culture, is described by the Times as "a deadpan pastiche of a variety of Japanese pop cultural forms, icons and fetishes," featuring "Ninjas, samurai, cutesy mini-monsters, giant robots and the country's most enduring export, city-stomping mega-monsters played by men in rubber suits."
The G-rated comedy is a first for the duo, whose first two movies, South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and Team America: World Police, tested the MPAA's limits with their outrageousness.
Somewhere up in heaven, Jack Valenti just vomitted in his mouth.
