  • David Goyer Discusses Ghost Rider 2

Ghost RiderWhen Sony announced that Ghost Rider 2 was moving forward, an older David Goyer script was mentioned as the possible basis of the storyline. Collider spoke with Goyer and asked him to explain how a script he wrote so long ago became the basis for a sequel.

I wrote a script for that about 9 years ago, and Sony decided and the producers, that they wanted to make that as the sequel script. So, in this case, I'm coming on as a producer and we're basically just doing a polish of my 9-year-old script. so there's not as much work involved. So that was kind of nice to see that one come full circle after 9 years.

Goyer's original script called for an R-rating, though that will not be the case for Ghost Rider 2. Still, Goyer insists that shouldn't put off any fans.

It was definitely written as a hard-R. originally I was writing it, Stephen Norrington was going to direct it and I was going to produce it and it was a, you know, Blade-type film, and now they want it to be PG-13. That having been said, The Dark Knight has come out, and The Dark Knight was ... I like to say it was sort of skirting the bleeding edge of PG-13, so I think that people feel like you can get away with a lot ... not get away, but people's concepts of what a PG-13 movie can be I think have changed. There's no question we're going to have tone some things down, but I don't think we'll have to do that much.

Ghost Rider 2 currently has no scheduled release date. Nicolas Cage is expected to return and hopes the sequel goes in a "whole other direction."

  • The Crow Back From the Dead

The CrowAttention all goths! After a wildly successful original and several forgettable sequels, The Crow is ready once again to bring goth fans out of their shrouded apartments and into theaters.

According to Variety, Blade director Stephen Norrington will write and direct, marking his first effort since ruining Alan Moore's faith in Hollywood with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

But before fans start donning The Crow's signature make-up in celebration, be warned: Norrington promises his version will differ from the "gloriously gothic and stylized" original and be "realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style."
