Some of Hollywood's hottest leading men are laying plans to try their luck in the fanboy arena.
Johnny Depp's production company is partnered with Warner Bros. and GK Films to adapt the 1960s horror soap, Dark Shadows, for the silver screen. Depp has been quoted as saying that he was obsessed with the show and wanted to play series vampire Barnabas Collins. Looks like he might get his wish.
And equally dishy Ed Burns (The Brothers McMullen, Saving Private Ryan) is venturing into comic books with Dock Walloper, a Prohibition-era gangster story. Like Guy Ritchie's The Gamekeeper, Burns is road-testing the concept as a serial for the Virgin Comics label to see if it has the legs to make it as a feature film.
Burns, who plans on starting to write the script for Dock Walloper this fall, will cast himself in the role of fading crime lord, Mad Dog Madden, and look for someone else to play the lead.
