• Madonna and New Moon

  Since Madonna is something of a vampire herself, preventing aging through a combination of obsessive exercise, Malawi children, and God knows what else, it seems only fitting that she would somehow be involved with New Moon.

  A source close to the production says there are no plans to cast the Material Woman in the movie, but she may provide some songs. Madge's manager, Guy Oseary, is a producer on New Moon, so it could all be pretty convenient.

• Bruno Takes on Madonna (again)

  Imitation is not always flattery, especially when Sacha Baron Cohen is involved. The British press is reporting that in his upcoming movie Bruno, the comic actor will mock the music diva's adoption of Malawian child David Banda. One storyline in Bruno has Cohen's alter ego, a flaming Austrian fashion presenter, and his boyfriend "Diesel" adopting an African baby named David and parading him around the fashion capitals of the world. Although Cohen and Madonna have worked together in the past -- he was featured in her video Music -- it is not his first joke at her expense. At the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards he followed her performance up with the comment "The singer before me -- who was he? It was very courageous of MTV to start the show with a genuine transvestite."
