  • A Fresh Kick to the Head

Jason Statham in Transporter 3 In Transporter 3, Jason Statham reprises his role as mercenary driver Frank Martin. So how do you keep the fight sequences interesting the third time out?

"I mean, there's so many different ways you can punch somebody in the head but it's kind of boring after a while," says Statham. For starters, you bring in Cory Yuen who was "responsible for the crazy fight" in the first movie. Get more action-packed details in our interview with Jason Statham.

  • Death Race = Chick Flick?

Joan Allen, enjoying a quiet moment in Death RaceJust because it's packed with fast cars, hot chicks and big guns, don't think for second that Paul W.S. Anderson's ultraviolent Death Race is just some mindless guys' movie. But don't take our word for it -- listen to Death Race co-star Joan Allen, who recently instructed us on the film's female-friendly qualities:

"If you don't care about the characters and their relationships and those don't really work, then the action stuff doesn't really pay off as much," the three-time Oscar nominee told us with a straight face. "I think what makes (Death Race) more appealing to women is that Jason Statham is in this situation where his wife has been killed and he can't get to his baby."

It's practically Fried Green Tomatoes, Beaches and The Notebook, all rolled into one. With cars.

  • Crank 2, Brought to You by Jose Cuervo

    Comic-Con 2008: San Diego

Jason Statham in Death RaceNext April, Jason Statham reprises his role of adrenaline junkie Chev Chelios in Crank 2: High Voltage, the sequel to the most ridiculously insane movie of 2006. While at Comic-Con to promote Death Race, Statham offered a glimpse into the sophisticated creative process employed by Crank 2 filmmakers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor for the follow-up.

"They wrote part two in like a week -- I think it was a weekend, actually," recounted Statham, who was a tad hung over after celebrating his birthday the night before. "They locked themselves in a room and just put three bottles of tequila there and just drank and wrote this script."

"It's one of the most enjoyable films I've shot in the last decade," Statham added. "It is absolutely madder than you can imagine. It's nuts, like the first one times a hundred. It's just ridiculous."

It's hard to believe that anything could be more enjoyable than making Uwe Boll's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, but I'll take Jason's word for it.

  • The Bank Job Review

The heist flick The Bank Job hits theaters March 7th starring Jason Statham and Saffron Burrows.

The movie is based on the Baker Street bank vault heist that took place in England in 1971 during which a group of part-time criminals unwittingly stumbled upon conpiracies involving Parliament and the Royal Family. The actual story has been kept under wraps for years because of a gag order on the press. It's a pretty wild story.

Check out our Review of The Bank Job for the full lowdown on the movie.

  • Statham takes the wheel for Transporter 3

Statham, kicking medieval ass in Dungeon SiegeFamiliarity, it seems, is the spice of life for Jason Statham. When he isn't collaborating with fellow Brit Guy Ritchie, everyone's favorite second-tier action star is busy making sequels to his previous works. Today, Variety reports that Statham has signed on for Transporter 3, the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of of badass Eurotrash courier Frank Martin. Louis Leterrier, the French director who helmed the first two Transporter flicks, won't be returning for a third round of car chases and gunfights, however. Instead, the aptly-named Olivier Megaton has been placed in charge of choreographing the chaos.

This April, Statham begins production on Crank 2: High Voltage, the follow-up to Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor's non-stop video game action flick Crank.

  • Jason Statham knows his place

It's never wise to mess with Statham You've gotta respect Jason Statham. While another actor of his ilk might be tempted to "branch out" and star in some pretentious vanity project in order to showcase his skills as a "serious actor," Statham steadfastly refuses to spread his wings, preferring instead to take on the same ass-kicking, high-concept action flicks that have become his trademark.

Variety reports that Statham has signed on for a sequel to Crank, the absurdly fast-paced action flick that debuted last year to surprisingly solid reviews. Crank 2's appropriately high-concept premise, according to Variety, involves Statham's character battling a "Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working."

    Sweeeeeet.
