It's been a while since we last heard news
regarding the long-gestating Arrested Development flick, so last night we
pressed Jeffrey Tambor, who was out promoting the Blu-ray release of Hellboy
II: The Golden Army (which is awesome, btw), for an update on the status of the
proposed Bluth family reunion:
"We're doing it," said Tambor, who
received two Emmy nominations for his work as twin brothers George and Oscar
Bluth on Mitch Hurwitz's critically-acclaimed -- and tragically short-lived -- sitcom. "I'm telling you,
we're doing it...I talked to Mitch this week and it's a go."
"There's gos and there's gos," Tambor quickly
clarified, adding that he hasn't seen a script yet. "I just know that Ron (Howard,
AD's producer/narrator) is on board, Mitch is
a go, we're all on board."
If Ron Howard can't get an Arrested Development
movie made, then nobody can. Now it's up to Mr. Hurwitz to furnish a script
(seriously, what's the hold-up?), and us AD fans can finally begin the process
of finding some closure. "We need to come full circle, don't you think?"
said Tambor of his Bluth comrades.
We couldn't agree more.
