In an effort to make sure no one in England is left out of the Harry Potter series, character actor Jim Broadbent (Bridget Jones's Diary, Moulin Rouge) has been cast as Horace Slughorn in the next Harry Potter movie, i.e., Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
At this point, the only Brits who have not been cast in a Harry Potter movie are Prince Charles and David Beckham.
For those who do not sleep with their copies of Harry Potter under their pillow, Horace Slughorn is a Potions professor at Hogwarts and the man responsible for telling Tom Riddle about horcruxes. For a biography of Slughorn of detail that only a real human deserves, check out his entry on MuggleNet.
Broadbent will also be starring opposite Harrison Ford in the upcoming Indiana Jones movie.
