  • Brad Pitt and Will Ferrell Added to Cast of Oobermind

DreamWorks Animation has recruited some top-flight talent to voice characters in its latest animated adventure, Oobermind, formerly titled Master Mind. It's been announced that Will Ferrell will voice the part of Oobermind, the titular supervillain role that was going to be Robert Downey Jr.'s first foray into animation and also rumored to have been offered to Ben Stiller. Other additions to the cast include Brad Pitt as Metro Man, a champion of good and Oobermind's arch-enemy, and Jonah Hill as Titan, a new superhero created by Oobermind to replace Metro Man. The trio of actors join Tina Fey, signed on to play a Lois Lane-esque character who reports on the city's superheroes.

Produced by Lara Breay and Denise Nolan Cascino, Oobermind is being directed by Tom McGrath and is scheduled for a fall 2010 release.

  • Nine-year-old Sells Movies Rights to Self-Help Book to Fox

Alex GrevenAlex Greven, the nine-year-old author of a best-selling 46-page self-help book entitled "How to Talk to Girls," has sold the movie rights to his book to Fox for a sum reported as the "low-to-mid six figures." Next up for Greven, we're guessing: a self-help book on how to write best-sellers with movie potential. Meanwhile: a movie about a nine-year-old who strikes it rich penning pick-up advice? Forget what we said about Jonah Hill being too old to play teenagers; this could be the role of a lifetime for him.

  • Jonah Hill to Play Marisa Tomei's Jealous Teenage Son?

Jonah HillVariety reports that Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei, and John Reilly may form one of the stranger triangles in recent Hollywood filmdom. Reilly will play a divorced man who falls for single mom Tomei, and Hill will play Tomei's jealous teenage son, who also happens to be a 40-year-old studio executive. Okay, we made up that last part, but if the writers can fit it into the script somehow, it will make the whole thing more believable. Even if he shaves the beard and puts in some contacts, 25-year-old Hill is looking just a little bit too super-old to keep playing teenagers, isn't he?

  • Jonah Hill in Talks for 21 Jump Street Movie

Jump!!!Straight out of the "Huh?" file comes EW.com's report that Superbad star Jonah Hill is in talks to write and possibly star in a big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street, the undercover narc TV drama that launched the career of Johnny Depp and helped put Fox's network on the map in the late '80s.

The involvement of funnyman Hill strongly suggests that producers are going for the ironic/self-aware vibe that's become all the rage with big screen send-ups of popular '70s and '80s TV shows. If that's indeed the case, Hill's first order of business should be a required viewing of the ill-conceived Ben Stiller/Owen Wilson Starsky & Hutch flick, followed immediately by 2005's disastrous Dukes of Hazzard, so that he may learn what pitfalls to avoid.

  • Jonah Hill addresses Watchmen rumors

Jonah Hill, star of SuperbadSuch is the excitement over the upcoming Watchmen movie that even the most minute details of the highly-anticipated adaptation of Alan Moore's acclaimed graphic novel are being furiously scrutinized by fanboys everywhere.

Take the case of Jonah Hill. The star of Superbad recently became the subject of widespread internet speculation that he'd been cast in the role of Seymour, the assistant to newspaper editor Hector Godrey. (For those unfamiliar with the source material, the role ranks somewhere between "man on bus" and "girlfriend #2" in terms of importance. But hey -- this is Watchmen we're talking about.)

Thankfully, the intrepid folks at MTV Movies went to the source to find out the truth and put an end to the hearsay. In an interview to promote Superbad, Hill himself quashed the rumor, claiming that he'd never even been approached for the role. Case closed, right? We'll see. Let's not forget that Shia LaBeouf repeatedly said the same thing regarding Indy 4, and now he's in New Haven riding motorcycles with Harrison Ford. Allegedly.
