With Surrogates in theaters and enjoying a disappointing run, why wouldn't Bruce Willis want to return as John McClane in another Die Hard? Willis says it's all about the timing.
I would love to do another one but they better get it done soon, what with the march of time and all that. I'm not getting any younger.
Willis may be getting older, but he was spry enough to lift the fourth Die Hard installment, Live Free or Die Hard to $383 million worldwide. Around the time of Live Free's release, Willis told Cinematical that Fox was excited for another Die Hard.
Fox is already talking about doing another one. I told them I would only do it if [director] Len [Wiseman] is involved, and Maggie Q. And Justin [Long], of course. You can't do one without Justin.
Two years later, Willis must be getting anxious. Still, with older action stars like Sylvester Stallone and Harrison Ford still working in their respective action franchises, it's a good bet there's a future for Die Hard 5. Just don't make it anything like Die Hard 2, the one sequel Willis hates.
The second film, if you go back and look at the second film, there are so many f**kin' references, referring to the first film. It was such bulls**t, I just hated it. It was really just a stupid, stupid thing. I don't know, I mean I liked jumping out of the helicopter onto the wing of that plane. I liked that from the second one. But I'd have to look at it to tell you if there was anything else I liked.

Although the new TV spot for Drag Me to Hell is mostly review-quote driven, it does open with a nice extended version of the seance sequence from the trailer in which those assembled chant, "I welcome the dead into my soul." A fair enough omen for all sorts of horrific invasions to come.
The cast and director dig deeper into the horror in a featurette over at Shock Till You Drop. Alison Lohman confesses that, like her character in the movie, she really would kill a kitten to survive. Justin Long professes his love for the performance director Sam Raimi managed to tease out of the maggots and the fly. And Raimi, himself, explains how he tried to incorporate what he has learned about characterization in his work outside the genre to make his return to horror that much more personal.

The first step on the road to Hell, as we can see in the first of three new clips from Drag Me to Hell, is getting dragged out of your car by an enraged old gypsy woman (Lorna Raver). Locking the door is no help as she smashes through the window to exact her revenge. And all this before the curse on loan officer Alison Lohman really even gets started.
In the second clip, we get a little comic relief with the first look at how the cursed loan officer's skeptical boyfriend, professor Clay Dalton (Justin Long), reacts to being dragged to a seer to figure out how to lift the curse.
In the third, locked doors once again provide little protection. This time from the menacing shadows of hands that infiltrate from below. Such shadows were also central in an earlier clip, so it looks like this will be one of the demon's favored manifestations.

The iconic popularity of those incessant "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" television ads have been part blessing, part curse for actor Justin Long. While they have certainly offered an entirely new level of exposure, they've also tended to overshadow Long's scene-stealing work in movies like Live Free or Die Hard and Zack and Miri Make a Porno. You also have to wonder how many times he gets approached by Mac nerds asking him to explain what the heck that spinning color wheel means?
Long's latest role in He's Just Not That Into You may well be the most demanding part of his career. Instead of playing the comic relief, his character Alex is pretty far removed from the roles of Long's past.
We sat down for an exclusive interview with Justin Long at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles to discuss his transition from jokester to romantic leading man.

Not to be left out of the whole CGI-rendered talking animal movie craze, furry woodland crooners Alvin and the Chipmunks have joined the likes of Babe, Garfield and The Cat in the Hat with their very own live-action flick, opening this Friday. Jason Lee (TV's My Name is Earl) stars as perpetually screaming manager/legal guardian David Seville, with Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard, those annoying Apple commercials) providing the voice for Chipmunks frontman Alvin.

The folks at Sony hosted a preview today of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, the latest guaranteed blockbuster from the Judd Apatow comedy empire. Starring John C. Reilly and directed by Jake Kasdan, Walk Hard is the first bona fide parody from the Apatow gang, spoofing of Walk the Line, The Doors and pretty much every other musician biopic ever made.
Being an Apatow flick, Walk the Line also features the requisite number of cameos, including a hilarious scene in which Cox drops acid with the Beatles while in India. Paul Rudd plays John, Justin Long plays George, Jack Black plays Paul and Jason Schwartzman plays Ringo. Much of the scene is spent poking fun at the fact that none of the actors remotely resemble members of the Fab Four.
Expect a more accurate impersonation from White Stripes frontman Jack White, who plays Elvis in a brief but memorable cameo.

Renee Zellweger has signed on to star in Appaloosa, a Western drama that will be directed by Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13). The movie is about "a pair of friends hired to protect a lawless town suffering at the hands of a renegade rancher," says Variety.com.
Harris, who will also be starring in the movie, adapted the script with Robert Knott (with whom he worked in Pollock) from the 2006 novel by Robert B. Parker. Harris will also be re-uniting with his A History of Violence co-star Viggo Mortensen, who also toplines the film which will start filming in New Mexico in October.
And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer Connelly (Blood Diamond), Kevin Connolly (Entourage), Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers), Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard) and Ginnifer Goodwin (Big Love) are all close to closing casting deals in Ken Kwapis's (License to Wed) film adaptation of He's Just Not That Into You.
As we reported in June, Drew Barrymore will be producing and starring in the movie, based on the book by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.
And finally, MTV.com is reporting that actress Rosario Dawson (Grindhouse, Sin City 2) won't be in Kevin Smith's Zack and Miri Make a Porno after all. Although Smith wrote the role of Miri with Dawson in mind, it appears she is too busy with her other projects (most notably Eagle Eye, which will be directed by D.J. Caruso) to fit it into her schedule. We wonder if Smith will delay shootnig Zack and Miri to get his muse?
