  • Kellan Lutz Talks The Twilight Saga

Kellan LutzKellan Lutz, the man behind "monkey man" Emmett Cullen, spoke to MTV about The Twilight Saga and how each director has brought something new to the franchise.

On the subject of differences within the saga, Lutz had this to say about directors Catherine Hardwicke, Chris Weitz, and David Slade:

Catherine Hardwicke was very energetic, and she made this beautiful movie. Chris Weitz had this really cool, really laid-back vibe, but has a great sense of how to do CGI and how to make these wolves look real and bigger than life versus just some computerized image. Then David Slade, with his action background and his indie style, just mixed the two. The movies are going to be unique in their own aspects, and that's what's really interesting — it's not the same director doing each one. We, as actors, got to see different styles of directing. So it doesn't feel old, ever.

When asked about his favorite New Moon scene, he replied with an answer sure to please the many fans of Charlie Swan and Billy Burke.

My favorite scene is probably anything that Charlie is in, played by Billy Burke. He just has this great comedic timing, and every scene with him, I get a laugh out of. And there's just tons of action. That's the thing too, seeing the wolves actually fight each other and roughhouse. It's really interesting to see what Chris did.

So, Twilighters, what's your take on the saga's directors? Who's your favorite? Do you think they'll do a good job bringing the characters to life? Let us know in the comments.

  • TwiCon News: Cast Q&A Session Draws 2,500+ Fans
Huge audience at TwiCon Cast Q&A session

It's a good thing the ballroom at the Sheraton Dallas is rather large. Even so, space was tight for the more than 2,500 fans who lined up to see and hear Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, Christian Serratos, Jackson Rathbone, and newcomer to the franchise, Alex Meraz.

Deafening applause filled much of the 40-minute Q&A session, during which the cast took pre-written questions from the fans. A definite highlight was when Burke made paper planes with handwritten notes and threw them into the audience. But what really made fans go wild was Facinelli running down the ballroom aisle to hand deliver one of the planes to an incredibly lucky fan.

Things got a little saucy when Meraz received a request to "take off his shirt" from a fan who's clearly spent some time gazing at the wolf pack's publicity shot, which has several six-packs on display. When asked how he prepared for his role as Paul, Meraz answered "by working out and eating lots of steak."

Serratos talked about how she likes Vancouver, filming location of the just-shot The Twilight Saga: New Moon and the soon-to-start Eclipse. She also mentioned how much she enjoyed working with director Chris Weitz.

When asked what Jasper would name his band if he were a musician, Rathbone promptly responded, "The Ungrateful Dead or 100 Vampires."

Facinelli differentiated his doctor characters in Twilight and Nurse Jackie by saying Dr. Carlisle Cullen is as cool as ice and is the pillar of his family, while Dr. "Coop" is a catastrophe and in constant chaos.

  • First Nightmare on Elm Street Poster Arrives

Nighmare on Elm Street RemakeJust days ago, a shadowy photo of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street was revealed online, and now a menacing, yet equally dark, poster has finally arrived. Obviously, Haley's appearance as Freddy is being kept a secret. For now.

Nightmare on Elm Street is a "re-imagining" of the 1984 original about a killer haunting the dreams of children with a glove filled with knives. Besides Haley, Rooney Mara and The Twilight Saga: New Moon's Kellan Lutz star.

  • Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Gossip Fills New Moon Void

New MoonWith filming for The Twilight Saga: New Moon done and Eclipse not scheduled to start for at least another month, it appears a storm of gossip and speculation is swirling up to fill the news void.

First, there's the claim of a Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson baby bombshell, splashed across the cover of an Australian tabloid — and then reported by the NY Daily News. That ought to further increase the hate mail bombarding Stewart from angry fans who believe she's "two-timing Rob with Michael Angarano," her longtime boyfriend.

And then The Vancouver Sun is reporting that Pattinson is "terrified and losing weight" during his NYC shooting of Remember Me. The cause? Rabid tween and teen girls fawning over him wherever he goes. This comes just weeks after he was supposedly "clipped by a cab" while trying to run away from "hysterical fans."

The only member of the New Moon cast that seems to be faring well is Kellan Lutz. Apparently he's become "cougar bait." In Touch Weekly says he told them that his fanbase ranges "from young teenagers all the way to their 40-year-old mothers!"

  • Twilight's Kellan Lutz Talks Elm Street

Kellan LutzMTV recently spoke to Twilight star Kellan Lutz about his upcoming role in 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street remake. When asked about the reboot, he said "It's very similar to the original, but with new characters. It's a really great cast, and the script is great."

Also joining Lutz is Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as Freddy Krueger, and TV stars Kyle Gallner (Smallville, Veronica Mars) and Thomas Dekker (The Sarah Connor Chronicles). What do you think — does Elm Street need a remake? And should it be a 90210-style teen slasher? We're not sure even Lutz's Twilight fan following is going to be enough to save this one.

  • Kellan Lutz Talks Rob, Italy, and David Slade

Kellan LutzAccess Hollywood recently spoke to Twilight's Kellan Lutz about filming in Italy, staying in Robert Pattinson's room, and the controversy surrounding Eclipse director David Slade's comments.

Lutz, most famous for his role as large-but-loveable vampire Emmett Cullen, pleaded ignorance to any knowledge of Slade's negative comments, but did say that he still thinks he'll bring a "great vision" to the movie.

When asked about filming the Volterra scenes in Italy, Lutz said, "I'm going there and I'm going to crash in Rob's room and make fun of him, 'cause I'm going to do a lot of sightseeing while he's shooting." At the mention of Pattinson's hotel room, thousands of Twilighters undoubtedly made plans to find, and camp outside, the room in question. We just hope Italy has good security ... and a large barricade or two.

  • Twilight's Kellan Lutz Rumored for Elm Street Remake

Kellan Lutz to appear in Nightmare on Elm Street remakeKellan Lutz, now most famous for his role as Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga movies, is rumored to be joining the cast of 2010's A Nightmare on Elm Street -- a modern remake of the popular '80s horror flick.

Lutz is no stranger to the horror genre, as he appeared in 2008's low-budget slash-fest Prom Night, which was -- surprise, surprise -- another '80s retelling gone bad. He's scheduled to play a "popular high school jock," which sounds similar to his recent part in the revamped version of 90210. He pulled that off quite convincingly, so it shouldn't be too much of a challenge for him.

Also rumored to be joining him are Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Kyle Gallner (The Haunting in Connecticut, Veronica Mars). Do we really need another horror movie remake? It's the same formula every time: hot, young cast + modern setting = box-office failure. Still, maybe this one will fare better. After all, no one can pull a crowd like a Twilight actor can.

  • 90210 Starlet Auditions for New Moon

AnnaLynne McCordMore news on the New Moon casting front. AnnaLynne McCord, who plays Naomi on 90210 and Eden on Nip/Tuck, is said to have auditioned for New Moon. Sources say McCord auditioned for the role of Heidi, a character who lures in humans with her stunning looks and then brings them to the Volturi vampires for eating. It could be the right role for her, considering she doesn't have any meat on her own bones for vampire snacking.

McCord's 90210 co-star Kellan Lutz played Emmett in Twilight and will return for New Moon.

  • New Moon Cast Gearing Up for a Tight Shooting Schedule

New MoonWith shooting scheduled to begin in Vancouver in mid-March, and a release date in November, you'd think that everyone on the cast of New Moon would have gotten a peek at the script. Soon, but not yet.

In a series of video interviews with Collider, Edi Gathegi, Rachelle Lefevre, Ashley Greene, and Kellan Lutz talk about getting ready for the Twilight sequel, what scenes they are most looking forward to filming, and how they are dealing with what looks to be a pretty tight shooting schedule. Despite the looming deadlines, they seem more enthusiastic than anxious about the challenge.

Gathegi, who will return as the vampire Laurent, admits he hasn't seen the script yet and adds: "We haven't even begun filming yet and we'll be in theaters on November 20th watching the movie. That's wild!"

There are signs that production is starting to get going though. Movieset is calling attention to this somewhat cryptic early February casting call that, while not mentioning New Moon by name, sure does look like it must be for the Twilight sequel: "Looking for First Nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25" for a speaking part in a major motion picture that begins filming in Vancouver in March.... Hmm.
