Also arriving in stores is Kevin Costner's cerebral serial killer flick Mr. Brooks, the first movie to succesfully exploit all of the irksome qualities of inexplicably popular comedian Dane Cook.

• Kevin Costner gets political

  Kevin Costner will be starring as a single father who winds up with the deciding vote in the American presidential election in Swing Vote, a comedy written and directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Neverwas).

  The comedy, which stars Dennis Hopper and Kelsey Grammer as the presidential candidates, just got picked up by Touchstone Pictures.

• Kevin Costner also out of ideas

  Not to be outdone by aging superstar counterparts Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis, Kevin Costner is also going back to the well in an effort to stay relevant. While promoting his latest flick, Mr. Brooks, Costner spoke yesterday about plans for yet another western:

  "It's just a good cowboy movie about friendship...It's written. It's 100% done. You know, people aren't dying to make (westerns). I'll have to figure out how to make it. I'll have to mortgage something else."

  No word on whether Costner has any additional baseball movies in the works.

• Kevin Costner still making movies, reproducing

  Kevin Costner has signed on star in the indie comedy Swing Vote, reports Variety.

  According to Variety, Costner will play "a single father thrust into the national spotlight when the presidential election comes down to his vote."

  The movie will debut at the Cannes Film Festival. Expect it to arrive on DVD shelves shortly thereafter.

  Costner recently celebrated the birth of his fifth child, Cayden Wyatt Costner.
