  • Lindsay Lohan's Fashion Debut Bombs at Paris Fashion Week

Lindsay LohanWhile the wreckage of her acting career is still smoldering, Lindsay Lohan's career as fashion designer looks headed for a similar result. Hired as "artistic adviser" to the struggling French label Emanuel Ungaro, she presented models appearing "in loose-fitting jackets that flapped open to reveal that they wore sequin-covered pasties, in the shape of hearts, on their breasts, leaving several people in the audience aghast." Classy, Lindsay!

Noted French art director Fabien Baron savaged her dryly, saying, "We love Lindsay Lohan — as an actress. Period." And style.com photographer Greg Kessler took pics of front-row guests "asking them to pose as Ms. Lohan by holding up their hands, ashamedly, in front of their faces."

This is just the latest in a series of setbacks for LiLo. Her most recent movie (Labor Pains) went straight to DVD, and it was reported she turned down the Heather Graham role in The Hangover because the script "had no potential." There is one small glimmer of hope for a comeback. She's confirmed in Robert Rodriguez's Machete, set for release sometime in 2010.

  • Lindsay Lohan Confirmed in Machete
    Lindsay Lohan

When the cast for Robert Rodriguez's Machete was announced, the variety of talent involved seemed impossible to believe. Steven Seagal and Jessica Alba? Robert DeNiro and Lindsay Lohan? Together, in the same movie? To take away some of our doubts, Rodriguez confirmed Lohan's appearance:

[Lindsay]'s one of the people in the movie. Her name is April. She's the daughter of one of the bad guys. I can't say too much. Oh, she's already been there. I've already shot some great stuff with her. Yeah, I shot her on Wednesday. She was fantastic.

Pictures of a bikini-clad Lohan from the set of Machete have already made it online. But Lohan isn't the only part of the Machete shoot that pleased Rodriguez:

We've been shooting this week, and it's just elevated from what you think it's gonna be by so much that I think the main note people will have watching it is: it delivered way beyond what it needed to deliver for me to be happy.

Machete started as a fake trailer for the Grindhouse movie Rodriguez made with Quentin Tarantino. Rodriguez says the footage shot from the trailer will be used and the rest the movie of it will be "bridging around it." Despite the already enormous and eclectic cast, Rodriguez says he still needs to "cast a few more people" in "main character" roles.

  • Lindsay Lohan May Star in Robert Rodriguez's Machete

    Comic-Con 2009: San Diego

    Lindsay Lohan

MTV reports that Robert Rodriguez is trying to sign Lindsay Lohan for Machete, his feature-length extension of the fake trailer he shot for Grindhouse.

In an interview at Comic-Con, Rodriguez said he already has her in mind.

Lindsay's cool. There's actually a cool part in the movie for her — if she takes it.

Danny Trejo, who played the title character in the trailer, is already on board to reprise his role, and Rodriguez added that he's courting several other big stars.

We've cast nobody but Danny and Michelle Rodriguez, but we've sent the script out to a lot of people. There are a lot of people we're sending it to, big names — but nobody that we've signed yet ... Next week, or maybe the week after, probably while we're actually shooting.

Other stars rumored for Machete are Robert De Niro and Jonah Hill. The movie goes into production in a few weeks and is slated for release sometime in 2010.

  • Lindsay Lohan Can Really Pick 'Em

Lindsay LohanUs reports Lindsay Lohan turned down the role of "Jade the call girl" in The Hangover, saying the script, "had no potential."

For the record, The Hangover has grossed nearly $209M and is arguably the summer's biggest hit. (Of course, the part ended up going to Heather Graham, who needed career revitalization nearly as badly.)

This is the latest indignity suffered by Lohan. Her next movie, Labor Pains, is going straight to video on August 4th. And her most recent theatrical release, I Know Who Killed Me, forced some critics to gouge their own eyes out, with Slant's Rob Humanick saying, "criticizing it seems the equivalent of beating up special needs children."

  • Digital Pirates Threaten to Sink Hollywood

Errol Flynn Where is Errol Flynn when you need him? In the good old days, Hollywood didn't lose money from pirates -- they made money from them. As the New York Times reports, however, the movie industry is beginning to suffer the same fate as the music industry, now that increasing bandwidth and better streaming technologies make it so easy to watch bootlegged copies of movies still in theaters.

Eventually, of course, Hollywood won't have any money left to make movies, but so what? That just means Lindsay Lohan will have more time to party, and we'll finally get around to watching E.T. and Wild Strawberries.

  • Oh, this is just too easy

According to MSNLindsay Lohan announced that for her next role, she will be playing a stripper in the upcoming I Know Who Killed Me.

She shared this information with Dave Letterman and the rest of the world on the Late Show on Wednesday night. Letterman, likely out of fear of being attacked by one of her large, orange, and often free-range bosoms, threatened cardiac arrest during the show.

Lohan's current movie, Georgia Rule, in which she plays a spoiled, drunken, sexually inappropriate wild child, opens today. In case you forgot, this is the movie which she was filming (or not filming, rather) when the producer wrote her a letter accusing her of not showing up to work for generally being a spoiled, drunken wild child.

It's lovely to see her trying to play against type. Really.

  • Gossip-girl Musical Chairs

Our friends at MSN are reporting that partygirl actress Lindsay Lohan has pulled a last minute drop out of the upcoming feature The Best Time of Our Lives, about another famous hard drinker - Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.

The Best Time of Our Lives, set to star Keira Knightley, Matthew Rhys, and Cillian Murphy, is a passion project for Knightley, whose mother wrote the screenplay. And she specifically recruited Lohan for the part of Thomas's wife.

Lohan, who reportedly bailed at the 11th hour over money, will be replaced by Sienna Miller.

Evidently Knightley's number one priority in casting this role was emotional instability.
