• RZA joins Downey Jr. and Galifianakis in Due Date

  Variety reports that Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA will star with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis in Due Date, the upcoming comedy from director Todd Phillips (The Hangover, Old School, Starsky & Hutch).

  The story involves a soon-to-be father who is in danger of missing his child's birth. In order to make it on time, he has to enlist the help of an underachieving college student, who takes him on a road trip.

  The RZA has already starred in and produced music for a number of features, perhaps most notably those of indie filmmaker Jim Jarmusch. If you haven't yet seen it, check out this hilarious clip from Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes, in which RZA discusses the ills of caffeine addiction with fellow Wu-Tang member GZA and ... Bill Murray.

  RZA is also starring in Paul Haggis's upcoming movie The Next Three Days and is scoring Robbie Brenner's Warriors Way.

  Due Date also stars Michelle Monaghan and Jamie Foxx and is scheduled for a November 5, 2010 release.

• Michelle Monaghan Due to Join Hangover Team and Robert Downey Jr.

  Todd Phillips took a chance when he forced Warner Bros. to let him cast Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover, but his gamble paid off when Hangover became the highest grossing R-rated comedy ever in July. Up next for Phillips is Due Date, a road trip comedy about an expectant father (Robert Downey Jr.) trying to race home to see the birth of his child alongside an annoying travel partner (Galifianakis).

  Variety reports that Michelle Monaghan is set to join the comedy as Downey Jr.'s pregnant wife, reuniting her with her Kiss Kiss Bang Bang co-star. Shooting begins this fall.

• Eagle Eye Stars Talk ... Freely

  In Eagle Eye, Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan play strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call and soon enmeshed in a terror cell's assassination plot. The action-packed thriller had the pair constantly on the run in an attempt to break free from a mysterious woman tracking their every move with popular technology. • Movie news: Aniston, Piven, and Trucker

  Jennifer Aniston is about to be the next cast member to join in Ken Kwapis's (License to Wed, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) adaptation of He's Just Not That Into You. The former Friends star is in negotiations to play a woman in a long-term relationship with a marriage-phobic boyfriend, says The Hollywood Reporter. Filming is scheduled to start next month in LA.

  Jeremy Piven (Entourage, Smokin' Aces) let slip to MTV on the Common music video shoot that he is about to star in a comedy called Don Ready. He wouldn't reveal anymore details other than that it is being produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay--which are obviously pretty juicy details.

  And finally, former Nicholl fellowship winner James Mottern will make his feature directing debut with his script Trucker, about a female truck driver who has to start to take care of her estranged 11-year-old son after his father is hospitalized. The indie drama will star Michelle Monaghan (North Country, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Nathan Fillion (Waitress, Firefly), Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality, Traffic), Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy, Big Daddy), and Jimmy Bennett (Evan Almighty, Poseidon), says Variety.

• Casting news: Walken, Hurt, Defiance, and Eagle Eye

  Variety is reporting several casting deals today.

  Christopher Walken and Alessandro Nivola (Junebug, Face/Off) will be teaming up in Five Dollars a Day, a road movie in which Walken plays a conman and Nivola the son who's been jailed for his crimes. Nigel Cole (Calendar Girls, A Lot Like Love) will direct...

  ...Liev Schreiber (The Painted Veil, Kate & Leopold) and Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, King Kong) will be joining Daniel Craig in Defiance, the Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond) written and directed drama about Polish brothers who join the Russian resistance during the Holocaust...

  ...Director D.J. Caruso will be re-teaming with Shia LaBeouf after their blockbuster turn in Disturbia for another thriller, Eagle Eye. Michelle Monaghan (Mission: Impossible III, North Country) has just been cast opposite Shia as a single mother who must infiltrate a cell plotting a political assassination after they are wrongly accused of being terrorists. MTV.com recently reported that Rosario Dawson has also signed onto the movie...

  ...MTV is also reporting that William Hurt has a juicy role coming up in a new Julie Delpy drama/romance. The Countess, which Delpy wrote and will star in and direct, is about Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian countess who lived during the 16th century and also happened to be a serial killer. Radha Mitchell (Melinda and Melinda, Finding Neverland) and Vincent Gallo (The Brown Bunny, Buffalo 66) are also confirmed.
