Actor Hugh Jackman is currently in negotiations to appear in the latest movie by director Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum).
Real Steel takes place in a near-future world where human boxers have been replaced by robot fighters. Jackman would play an ex-fighter who becomes a Robot Boxing promoter and discovers a junked robot that simply can't lose in the ring. Jackman's character climbs his way to the top of the Robot Boxing circuit while getting acquainted with a 13-year-old son that he never knew he had.
The original Dan Gilroy Real Steel script has been rewritten twice, first by Les Bohem and then by John Gatins. Levy will produce with Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford. Steven Spielberg will executive produce, with ImageMovers' Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, and Steve Starkey.
