When Warner Bros. announced the release date of Zack Snyder's next project Suckerpunch, the all-girl action movie Snyder will direct from a script he co-wrote that's "crazier than anything" he's ever done, a question was raised: what is Suckerpunch?
THR reports Suckerpunch is about a girl named Babyface who is institutionalized by her stepfather and retreats to a fantasy world to escape where she starts planning her escape. Snyder describes the movie as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns."
Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia) is set to play Babyface, with Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical), Abbie Cornish (A Good Year), Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler) and Emma Stone (Superbad) possibly joining Seyfried as fellow inmates.
Once Suckerpunch opens on October 8, 2010, Snyder will then re-team with Watchmen co-screenwriter Alex Tse for an adaptation of Ray Bradbury's short story collection The Illustrated Man. At the Watchmen premiere, Tse told us that he's already written a few drafts that Snyder was pleased with.
