Brad Pitt's recent public appearance with Bill Clinton in New Orleans sparked a flurry of gossip and debate in tabloid magazines and on dozens of websites about why he was sporting a bushy goatee. The folks at CineFools did their homework and offer up the theory that Pitt is getting into character in preparation for director James Gray's new movie, The Lost City of Z.
Based on the novel of the same name by David Grann, The Lost City of Z tells the story of Col. Percy Fawcett, a British explorer who disappeared in the Amazon in the 1920s while looking for a lost civilization. Pitt is signed on to play Fawcett, who happened to wear a pretty distinctive goatee of his own, so it's speculated that Pitt's grizzly new appearance is a sign that production on this film will be beginning soon.
