• Daniel Craig Injured on Bond Set

  Blond Bond Daniel Craig has sustained the second of two injuries in the course of two weeks on the set of Quantum of Solace.

  Last week, Craig sustained a cut to his face that required 8 stitches. And yesterday, he sliced off the top of his finger during an action sequence, prompting a trip to the emergency room.

  Superstitious types are branding these accidents proof of the 'Curse of Bond.'

  We say: Let's just hope it isn't his trigger finger.

• A-Team, Quantum of Solace get release dates

  Sony has officially put Quantum of Solace, the next installment of the James Bond series, on the docket to open on Nov. 7, 2008--one week after it opens in the UK. Solace picks up where last year's Casino Royale left off, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as the blond Bond.

  And in other news, Fox has set John Singleton's bigscreen adaptation of the '80s TV megahit The A-Team to open on June 12, 2009, although the movie hasn't even been cast yet. We can only imagine Mr. T will pity the fool who doesn't see it on opening weekend.

• New DVD Releases

  Best Picture Oscar winner No Country for Old Men leads his week's bumper crop of new DVD releases. Also debuting are Steve Carell's relationship dramedy Dan in Real Life, Jerry Seinfeld's animated hit Bee Movie, Freddie Highmore's inspirational August Rush and the tween-friendly mystery Nancy Drew.

  Our pick for the week is the videogame adaptation Hitman (available in both standard and extra-bloody unrated editions), not because it's an especially good movie, but because it provides a phenomenal sneak peak of smokin' hot Quantum of Solace Bond girl Olga Kurylenko.

• First James Bond: Quantum of Solace Poster Revealed

  Sony just released a cool new teaser one-sheet (see the larger-size version here) from Quantum of Solace, the 22nd chapter of the blockbuster James Bond franchise featuring Daniel Craig's second turn in the title role.

  There isn't a whole lot of info revealed in the pic, except that it looks like 007 swapped his trademark Walther PPK for what appears to be an AK-47. Is Bond going gangsta on us? Stay tuned...

• Bond gets girl, starts shooting

  Sony announced today that principal photography has begun on the 22nd Bond flick, tentatively -- and creatively -- titled Bond 22, at London's venerable Pinewood Studios. Daniel Craig returns as the blonde Bond, accompanied by Casino Royale co-stars Judi Dench, Jeffrey Wright and Giancarlo Giannini. Newcomers include Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly), who plays Bond's Gallic nemesis, and Gemma Arterton (Rocknrolla), who plays MI6 Agent Fields.

  Sony also announced that Bond's leading lady will be Ukranian model-turned-actress Olga Kurylenko, who was last seen opposite Timothy Olyphant in the videogame flick Hitman -- a movie Bond 22's producers apparently never saw.

• New Bond baddie cast

  The next installment of the James Bond series has its villian. French actor Mathieu Amalric will play 007's primary nemesis in James Bond 22, which makes perfect sense because we all know that all French people are inherently evil.

  Amalric recently wowed audiences with his performance as paralyzed stroke victim Jean-Dominique Beauby in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, leaving us to conclude that he will attempt to fell Bond in this movie with his all-powerful eyelid.

• Craig NOT going to be Bond four more times

  It seems as though MGM President Harry Sloan may have gotten a little ahead of himself. As we reported earlier, Sloan had claimed that after the wonder that was Casino Royale, he's signed sexy Daniel Craig to reprise the role of 007 in the next four Bond films. Which would be terrific--provided it were true.

  You see, while doing press recently for The Golden Compass, Mr. Craig has said that that is absolutely not the case. It's not that he wouldn't do four more, it's that he's more into the wait and see approach. "What I've done is I've signed up on the next movie, after that we'll see," Craig said.  "It's certainly not four more".

  Doh.

• Bond, more Bond

  We already knew that Daniel Craig had signed for the next Bond movie, but it seems the sexy Brit has a little bit more spy action up his sleeve.

  In fact, it seems that he will be reprising his role in the next FOUR Bond movies. It seems the powers that be at MGM were pleased with Casino Royale.

  That puts him squarely in the middle for most-Bond-reprisals for all the actors who have previously donned the 007 mantle. Zowie.

• Acting dealz: Watts, Carrey, and Craig - Oh my!

  Hardworking actors Naomi Watts, Jim Carrey and Daniel Craig just seem to love their jobs.

  Watts, who announced just two weeks ago her plans to star in The International with Clive Owen, may have just added another movie to her impending postpartum schedule. The Courier-Mail (Australia) reports that Liev Schrieber's baby momma has signed on to play baddie Narcissa Malfoy (mother of Draco and wife of Death Eater, Lucius) in the next film installment of the Harry Potter saga--Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince--along with other Potter newcomers Joseph Fiennes and Stuart Townsend.

  But MTV reports that the reps for all three are denying that this is the case. We'll keep you posted!

  ...As we reported earlier, Jim Carrey has made his plans to star in Yes Man official, says Variety. The comedy about a man who decides to say yes to every opportunity that presents itself is based on a memoir by British author Danny Wallace. Carrey plans film it next year after he wraps on A Christmas Carol...

  ...Hunky Brit Daniel Craig has signed on to reprise his roles as James Bond two more times. The first blond Bond will receive $26 million for filming James Bond 22 and 23, making him the highest paid actor in the UK, says The Guardian (London).
